Thai Border Police Seize Meth and 'Happy Water' Worth Millions

Thai Border Patrol Police in Nakhon Phanom province intercepted a massive drug shipment smuggled from Laos across the Mekong River. Officers seized 240,000 methamphetamine tablets, also known as "yaba," along with a significant quantity of "Happy Water," a synthetic party drug popular in Thai nightlife. The bust followed an intelligence tip-off about drug traffickers planning to use small boats to smuggle narcotics into Thailand under the cover of night. Authorities launched a high-speed chase along the river, forcing traffickers to abandon their cargo and flee. Officials believe the drugs were intended for distribution in Bangkok and other major cities. This operation is part of an ongoing crackdown on transnational drug networks, with Thai and Laotian authorities ramping up border surveillance. Police are now investigating the syndicate behind the shipment, warning that more arrests are expected as the probe continues.
