A motorcyclist lost his life in the early hours of 14 January following a crash on Rojana Road in Ayutthaya. The crash occurred around kilometre marker 10 in Sam Ruean Subdistrict, Bang Pa-In District.

Police Lieutenant Thaworn Saengsai, Deputy Investigator of Bang Pa-In Police Station, was notified of the incident at 05:00 and immediately dispatched officers to the scene, along with rescue personnel from the Ayutthaya Ruamjai Foundation.

At the scene, responders found the lifeless body of Mr. Alit aged 22, a resident of Bo Ta Lo Subdistrict, Wang Noi District, Ayutthaya. He was wearing a winter jacket and was lying on his back in the far-right lane near the central road divider. He had suffered a fatal head injury, and nearby, his black full-face helmet was found in the road, damaged from the impact.

Approximately 50 metres away, a red Yamaha Fino motorcycle was discovered overturned in the middle of the road, with noticeable scratches on both sides.

Mr. Panya Chumanee, a representative of the Ayutthaya Ruamjai Foundation, stated that the team had received a report from local residents about a motorcycle crash, leaving an unconscious man lying on the road. Eyewitnesses explained that the motorcyclist had collided with the central road divider. Although the victim was wearing a helmet, the force of the crash caused it to dislodge and ripped off, leaving his head vulnerable to the fatal impact with a tree and the divider.

Police investigators identified a long scrape mark on the road and the central divider, along with scattered debris from the motorcycle. Preliminary findings suggest that the victim lost control of his motorcycle, hitting the road divider with significant force, which led to his helmet coming off.

The victim’s body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Science at the Ministry of Justice in Pathum Thani for a thorough post-mortem examination. Authorities are working to contact the victim’s family so they can retrieve his body as the investigation continues.
