lol no no no what?   DEI is contrary to nature and as such it is unsustainable.   How happy would you be on an aircraft if you knew the pilot only qualified because people with down's syndrome were currently under represented as  commercial airline pilots?

When I owned a store, I joined / sponsered the intern program of a local high school. The kids were MOTIVATED to learn, I had 1 boy and 2 girls as interns. Color or religion was of no concern to me - motivation / ability was the factor.

A person with Down's Syndrome would not be qualified to fly a plane. A person of a minority race, gender, or even transgender might be qualified. If they are, they should be considered for the job.

"considered" sure that's perfectly ok  but not given or guaranteed  a job because they are "special" at the expense of a more capable "normal " person.  If I was running a business I would expect to employ who ever I wanted without explaining myself to somebody like you

"Considered" is all that DEI asks. It doesn't require you to employ someone you don't want.

If that were true there would be no issues, but theres more to it in reality.

Two guys apply to me for a job one black, one white , both identically qualified and experienced.  However there is "something" about the white guy i just don't like ,  so I give the job to the black guy ,  No problem and the white guy has no recourse to complain.

On the other hand if i just don't like the black guy and employ the white man,  the black guy has many ways to complain and I have left myself open to a whole load of problems

Society needs that 70% to function or society falls to pieces. DEI interfered with the efficiency of that 70%. I have direct knowledge of a program where DEI was introduced and it doubled the workload of the efficient 70% who had to double-check literally everything that was done by the DEI employees. The employer, who is desperate for employees, had to abandon the program as they were sailing close to being sued for indefensible employee negligence.

 

The truth for far lefties? 

 

No one cares the colour of your skin when your mother is being saved from a heart attack, when your child is being carried from a burning house. We only care about efficiency. 

 

Promoting the inefficient and undermining functioning society in the pursuit of racial equality was never going to work. Its the mindset of morons. Well intentioned morons, but still morons.

As @theblether alluded too, how well did the DEI hires go for the residents in the fire affected areas of California go recently? DEI has no place in the fire department and local government (or anywhere else for that matter). Best man (or woman) should get the job. This is why some corporations are backpeddling on DEI in my opinion. If these DEI hires cannot do the job, then, ultimately, it can affect the whole organisation. Stock prices, dividends, and survival of the business are important.

The medical term for someone with an IQ of less than 84 is "moron." I suggest some of you take the time to research McNamara's morons, a cohort who were drafted to the Vietnam War and who suffered higher casualty rates as they didn't have the brains to assess risk.

those things are indeed important to most people who live the in the real world  However, to the advocates of this DEI insanity who either live in the protected environment of low quality "universities" or who are "employed" in non-jobs funded by the taxpayer or who simply live off benefits,  none of the things you mention have any meaning whatsoever

  Was it because they couldn't assess risk, or was it because they were considered sacrificial because they were morons?

Monday is MLK jr DAY, a National Holiday !  Its also Inauguration Day for the 47th POTUS.

How fitting it would be for 47 to Quote a famous line , in his address to the nation ,that flys in the face of the Cultural Marxist, plan of DEI ,where people  judge people based on the color of their skin and not on the content of their character. That being said ,DEI  puts character and merit achievement second.
