As I've said twice I just posted some thoughts. You well know PLA were defeated militarily in Gaza some years back. PLA have expressed interest in taking back Gaza in a governance role for which they will require support to push out Hamas armed fighters. Whether that is possible I do not know, but if Israeli forces move back into Gaza, IMO, they will lose international support. Who knows maybe the Abraham Accords may turn out to a useful mechanism other than enriching trump family.

What I hate most about USA foreign policy, the support of Israel.  Thankfully, none of my tax dollars went to them, as I've gotten most, if not all my taxes back over the past 24 years of being a blight on the USA budget

So Trump and his experts have been involved the last few months

Netanyahu figures that Trump will give him more favors, like the last time when he recognized a unified Jerusalem as the israeli capital. So not giving success to Biden helped Trump get elected. (Of course Harris helped herself lose as well).

 

If not for his 100% backing of the war, Biden could have cut off arms & cash supplies long ago to secure a ceasefire, so the 7-8 months (as you say) were just time where 10000 more Palestinians died.

Neither are the West Bankers citizens of Israel. That is why Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have determined that Israel is an Apartheid state. They also found practices in Israel proper against the Arab Israeli population that rate as Apartheid.

Why is Hamas not leaving the West Bank? Why is the PA currently eliminating as many Hamas and its affiliates as it can in the West Bank?

Both groups have legitimate claims to be native to the area. But one group wants to murder the other, while the other wants to live in some kind of peace. That is the bottom line.  The only wars of genocide have been the ones perpetrated by Hamas and their ilk, starting in 1948 and continuing ever since. 

 

As for the current deal, it will fail eventually. Israel will continue to hunt down and kill the terrorists who took part in the October 7 massacre.  

Frankly, I have given up on the current generation of Palestinians. THey have been raised in an atmosphere of hatred and anti-semitism that rivals anything done in Nazi Germany. The only long term hope would be to rescue the NEXT generation and try to educate them in tolerance and forbearance. Teach them that Jews are not vermin, but neighbours.
