Did covid make you dislike people

As I get older I'm becoming more ...how may we put it...selfish? Non caring , couldn't give a hoot ?

Nasty even .

And during the Covid years I became even more people hater as "Karen's" in supermarkets including male "Karen's" would either ask why you didn't have a mask on or come over to ask you to pull it up.

I met and watched some very nasty people during those covid years from people abusing each other to fighting over toilet paper

Now yesterday  in a 6  level building to go see a doctor

Upon arrival on the floor looking at the foyer sign a elderly man rushes in front of me to get the lift/elevator

As I go towards it ,the doors closed and he had a smile on his face ,I decide to walk up the stairs , as I got to the 3rd level which was deserted I walked the lift to hear someone shouting and banging in the inside lift doors

I shouted hello to hear the old cow in there who had I seen earlier

"The alarm button is not working he shouts thru the door and my phone has no reception ,he was trying to separate the two doors so I peered in to see his thick glasses

Can you tell someone? He shouts .

I look in and in a slow voice I say "Nothing is for free

,what am I getting out of this?

You tell me sunshine !

There is a silence

"I just need help " he whined

"Tough I shouted back ,suffer you old cow "

The way I was treated thru the covid era and you expect my help !

I then walked off

I have decided 2025 I will be completely selfish in everything I do unless I'm getting something out of it

As I get older I see even the younger generation no respect and rush to get on buses etc before anyone else so why should I care about others

I'm a nasty old man and I will get nastier

COVID did not change me at all. I was in Thailand during all the lockdowns in Australia. I was sending ATK test kits back to friends. They cost 40 baht here, the equivalent of 1000 baht in Oz.

The Thai authorities did not have to mandate masks, the culture was already there. Wearing a mask was a light burden, people could still shop and go about their business.

The OP would do well to remember you reap what you sow.

I'm more happier being bitter ,being nasty and many of you are too.

I remember helping a old farang guy a few years ago in a Jomtien restaurant who was choking on  his food

As soon as I slapped his back and he recovered he abused me

So never again

Covid didn't make me dislike people, I disliked people way before that period in time.

No. But it made me despise and distrust government even more than I already did. And that is saying alot.

The cultural aspects of having civid has changed the peoples behaviour towards each other

Maybe "cultural" is not the word description but I see bitterness anger PTSD by people who were mistreated by police ,by authorities and their own people

I'm sure Thai people didn't go around fighting each other for toilet paper nor dobbing in each other

The times have changed to every man for himself as in the Daniel Penney case in new York

The funniest thing I saw was during a covid protest in Australia which I was walking through, a old police men had his back turned standing over a raised garden bed , a protestor rushed up behind pushing him in arse over head .

I stood there and laughed at the mud faced dittering old cow or should we say mumbling pig, in description

The authority is mistrust

Blackmail of Insects? I don't know what that's referring to but I am reading a book called "One Nation Under Blackmail" by Whitney Webb, which traces the history in the US of blackmail operations among the CIA, organized crime, and the FBI leading up to Jefferey Epstein, who was allegedly a Mossad agent and blackmailling the rich men he was videotaping surrepitiously with the underage women he supplied them. I recommend it.

My implicit point was why are you constantly portrying yourself in a bad light, going up to people on the street and insulting them, refusing to help them, criticizing their lifestyles, sitting in judgment of them. I find that perplexing.

I can assure you I would never celebrate living in Australia,I'm here to take

Why thank a nation who has pillaged the country not to mention harassed threatened people during covid

Hardly anything to be proud of

As soon as I'm out of this broken country called Australia the better

We are now all bitter and nasty as we get older

Our psychology has changed

We are more less caring , less trusting .

Tell me all your thoughts as you get older, a lot change

Another exciting day in the life of George ....

regards Worgeordie

Covid certainly made Thais dislike foreigners.

It's not unusual to encounter a Thai person who will recoil and lift up their mask upon seeing a foreigner, even now.  It's really not pleasant.  Obviously there's the part where they're treating you badly, but there's also the part where it shows you how stupid and racist they are.  Very disappointing.

The Pandemic didn't change my view of people. I had already formed a well-grounded opinion. While I do love Mankind, other than friends,  I really don't want to interact with most of the people I see around me.

I won't be rude to them. I'll help someone in need. Just don't tell me your worldview and political opinions unless I've asked for them.  I don't care to hear it.

Please leave me alone.

Certain government officials yes

IIRC it was Anutin who initiated the image of dirty farangs. He's got a point, when you look at some in Pattaya.

I can't say I have encountered the attitude myself. But then, I live in northern Thailand, where Thais don't put much stock in what the Bangkok elites say.

No, the opposite is true for me. The older I become, the less I care about what other people think or do.  It just isn't worth the energy. I'm more concerned with peace of mind.

I do feel sorry for the younger people who are going to have cope to with climate change, autocratic governments, the worst wealth disparity in human history, psychotic billionaires, and the coming clash of civilizations. But as a famous Polish saying puts it, "Not my monkeys, not my circus." Not anymore anyway.

The world went crazy

People became paranoid

To this day I still do not talk to some work colleagues because of their paranoia during covid dobbing in  people who wernt wearing masks etc

As you grow older you become bitter

Not my monkeys not my circus

Ironically during March 2020 I was in a cafe with a old friend who is no longer a friend

He had that printed on his t shirt or similar

Not my monkeys not my circus

This was at the heart of the pandemic

Whilst at the cafe coffee table he proceeded to cut our conversation short where he lent over to a couple seated at another table

"Could you put your mask back on after taking a sip of your coffee" he shouted to the Harry potter looking guy

I immediately got up ,he look astounded ,your a hypocrite wearing that t shirt I said

"I get my kicks above the waistline sunshine "

I walked off as he was in shock

"George George he shouted

I immediately walked towards the cafe door where I bent over chucking a brown eye ,

"Now put ya mask on that " I shouted as I left

Not me, sunshine. You could say I suffer fools less gladly.

Perhaps you are not aware socializing is one of the factors in warding off Alzheimers.

Who wants to socialize with a bitter old man?

Where people are paranoid of you breathing close to them

Or paranoid of photo taking

No thanks

Even I noticed a difference of younger generation especially girls at the gym who don't like anyone on a treadmill NEXT to theirs putting a towel on both treadmill on opposite sides  so no one can use them !!
