Who claimed Israel had won the war? There are still over 90 hostages being held by Hamas!

IDF assesses Hamas defeated militarily in all of Gaza, is now a guerrilla terror group

The Israel Defense Forces assessed on Friday that Hamas has been largely defeated militarily in the entire Gaza Strip, and it is now effectively a guerrilla terror group that will take some more time to dismantle.

That seems quite accurate, but that is not claiming they won the war, Hamas are still holding over 90 hostages. So to answer your question, that's a big fat no

In my humble opinion, the "ceasefire" may last two week and then Israel will be dropping bombs of the last remaining structures that still exist in Gaza.  Then the "war" takes on a distinct "Stalingrad during WWII" flavor as Hamas fights the IDF from the rubble.

That's you not claiming that they won the war.

According to IDF, Hamas has been reduced to just being a terrorist group. Apparently, it's just a terrorist group with a police force that the UN and other aid groups is relying on to get supplies to the Gazans. That's what most people would call governance.

All those suspiciously new looking uniforms on the brave 'fighters' of Hamas show the bankrupcy of their position. If they had fought while in uniform, Gaza would have been spared needless destruction. In any case, the majority of experienced Hamas terrorists have been brought to room temperature. The ones so bravely showing themselves on the streets are the wannabes and never weres. If they choose to step into battle they will be slaughtered.

 

As for the results, I would say Israel is on top. Hamas is broken. Hezbollah decapitated. The Houthis bombed into oblivion. Assad in Syria is out. Iran humbled and wrecked. All in all, a good result.

If only the opponents of better equipped armed forces would play fair and not adopt tactics that exploited their strengths and their enemies' weaknesses. That's just plain bad sportsmanship!

I have made several posts stating basically the same thing, except the Houthis in Yemen are presently still a minor threat.   The ragtag army that is Hamas today can still  cause a lot of headaches and need to be reckoned with.  Yes, the war is not won and Israel needs to finish the job.  The sooner the better.

The Houthis have just announced that because of the ceasefire they will only be attacking Israeli ships in the Red Sea.  I think they are running out of steam and are now only capable of token attacks.

   So Hamas have come out of hiding and are showing themselves ?

That will be beneficial to Israel if the ceasefire gets broken .

If Hamas break the ceasefire by sending any rockets into Israel , then the war will continue immediately  .

   Israel have stopped the Hamas rockets from being fired into Israel .

One rocket from Gaza into Israel and the war will continue
