If Im travelling overseas does the KTB and/or UOB banking app on a thai phone work. For example if Im using the travel card issued by KTB and I want to top it up by transferring money from my KTB bank account to the travel card, can I do that overseas. Or if Im using my UOB (citibank) credit card and want to pay off the card using the app by transferring from my UOB bank account to the card.... does it work?

 

I know these apps dont like the VPN.

I have Bangkok Bank & SCB.....Both apps work in the US using my phone and available wifi.....

I know it's not a exact match but at least it's an example....

Be sure to let the banks know your travel dates.....

 

K bank works,,  no vpn and use wifi

It works overseas but make sure you keep your phone number active even if you're using WiFi. 

My phone payment lapsed and within a few months I lost my number and access to online banking. I've just had to get a new number and reinstall app.

Krung Thai works perfectly abroad for over 8 years

KBank app works fine for meh7 in Philippines. As was said earlier make sure you sti ll have access to your profiled phone number for any text mssges. 

My KBank works. You need to have an active Thai phone SIM in your device working also. It does not need to be on international roaming but using the SIM over WiFi will suffice.

May I confirm that if I take my thai phone overseas and connect it to the hotel wifi then I can use the KTB app on my thai phone? Im in the same situation as OP. I have the ktb travel card and ktb account. But I also have a KTC credit card. therefore its useful to use the app overseas. thanks

Just need wifi. Why do you need the app abroad except for transferring you use your card touch and go. How do you have a KTB travel card I thought it's only for Thai Nationals.

It's all registers with your phone. They can track everything.
