In Pathum Thani, a domestic dispute between a suspicious husband and his wife ended in tragedy when the wife defended herself by stabbing him, resulting in his death.

The incident occurred today, January 23, at 1am in a fourth-floor apartment room within a five-storey building in Mueang district, Pathum Thani province.

Police Lieutenant Suwat Phoree from the Pak Khlong Rangsit Police Station, along with senior officers and forensic experts, responded to the scene following reports of the fatal altercation. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 32 year old Manat, who had suffered a fatal knife wound under his left ribcage.

The room showed signs of a struggle, with scattered belongings, a blood-stained kitchen knife, and a pestle found nearby. The suspect, 27 year old Oranchon, the man’s wife, was present in the room, holding their eight-month-old baby and awaiting police custody.

Oranchon tearfully recounted that her husband, who worked as a vegetable cart vendor at the Si Mum Mueang Market, often accused her of infidelity. She, however, was not working and stayed home to care for their child.

On the night of the incident, an argument erupted over his jealousy. Oranchon suggested they separate if he could not trust her and attempted to leave the room to call her mother.

Her husband, however, pulled her back, accusing her of wanting to be with another man. She responded by telling him they should end their relationship.

In a sudden escalation, her husband struck her on the head with a pestle, causing their baby to cry. Oranchon expressed concern for their child and tried to comfort the baby, but her husband kicked her to the ground.

As he attempted to hit her again with the pestle, she grabbed a knife and defended herself, resulting in his death, reported KhaoSod.

Police have charged Oranchon with causing death by intentional bodily harm and have taken her into custody for further legal proceedings.
