Astronomers from all over the world were watching!

How are you saying astronomers from all over the world were watching it? On TV?

The moon lander is too small to be seen with earth based telescopes.

Remember middle school or secondary school?

For most people that would be the last time in life they were in a community with no threshold of intelligence or good sense for entry.

After that university, technical schools, employment... all these communities were selective of who would be included and who you would encounter.

With internet discussion groups you are once again in a "community" of people with no requirements for admission.

I leave the implications of this to be pondered along with statements and beliefs of some contributors here.

Which moon landing was faked?

Apollo 17

Apollo 16

Apollo 15

Apollo 14

Apollo 12

Or Apollo 11?

Just curious.

No one seems to ask if the Apollo 13 emergency was faked?

NOT that I believe it was faked!

The 1969 Moon landing remains one of humanity's most iconic achievements, but over the years, it has sparked intense debate. While the world watched as Neil Armstrong took his historic first steps, a vocal group of skeptics questioned whether it was all a hoax. Let's explore some of the most well-known conspiracy theories surrounding the lunar landing, present the facts, and invite you to draw your own conclusions.

Myth #1: The Van Allen Radiation Belts

The Claim:
Some argue that the astronauts couldn’t have passed through the Van Allen radiation belts without being exposed to lethal doses of radiation, making the trip to the Moon impossible.

The Answer:
In reality, the Apollo missions passed through the radiation belts quickly, minimizing the astronauts' exposure. The spacecraft were also equipped with shielding that protected the crew, and the radiation levels encountered were well within safe limits for short-duration exposure.

Myth #2: The Missing Blast Crater

The Claim:
Skeptics point out that when the lunar module landed, there was no visible blast crater underneath it, which they argue would have been created by the powerful engine.

The Answer:
The Moon’s low gravity and the lunar module’s gentle descent required minimal engine thrust. This resulted in no significant disturbance to the surface. Additionally, the Moon's surface is composed of rocky and compact material, which didn’t lend itself to creating a crater.

Myth #3: Perfectly Lit Photographs

The Claim:
Some argue that the photographs taken on the Moon are too well-lit, especially in areas that should have been in shadow, implying artificial lighting was used.

The Answer:
The photos appear well-lit because the Moon’s surface reflects sunlight. This natural reflection, combined with the astronauts' white suits, illuminated even the shadowed areas. This is a standard effect in photography when light reflects off nearby surfaces.

Myth #4: No Exhaust Flames

The Claim:
Critics question why the lunar module’s engine didn't produce visible flames during takeoff from the Moon's surface, suggesting the footage was faked.

The Answer:
The lunar module used hypergolic fuels, which burn without visible flames in a vacuum. This is entirely consistent with how such engines function in space, where combustion doesn’t produce the same visible effects as it would in an atmosphere.

Myth #5: Stanley Kubrick Filmed the Moon Landing

The Claim:
A popular theory suggests that filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, renowned for his work on 2001: A Space Odyssey, was hired by NASA to direct the faked Moon landing footage.

The Answer:
There is no credible evidence to support this theory. Kubrick himself denied any involvement, and the complexity of the Apollo missions, along with corroborating evidence from multiple countries, debunks the idea that the landings were staged. The technology of the time would have made it virtually impossible to convincingly fake such a monumental event.

Myth #6: The "Lost" Apollo Mission Tapes and Schematics

The Claim:
Some say NASA “lost” the original Apollo mission tapes and technical schematics, fueling speculation that the agency is hiding evidence of a hoax.

The Answer:
The original telemetry tapes were reused in the 1980s due to budget constraints and the need for storage space—this was a common practice at the time. However, copies of the data and footage, along with extensive documentation, still exist, and no evidence suggests a cover-up.

Encouraging Speculation

The theories and doubts surrounding the Moon landings continue to captivate people's imaginations.

While the evidence overwhelmingly supports the authenticity of the Apollo missions, the ongoing debate invites further reflection.

What do you think—did we land on the Moon, or is there more to the story?

but it doesn't mean the footage that was shown to the masses is what's really on the moon.

On a nationwide U.S. survey, around 10 percent of respondents agreed with conspiracy claims that the Earth is flat, NASA faked the Moon landings, or COVID-19 vaccinations implant tracking microchips.

99% of those people just like making ridiculous answers to polls to mess with the pollsters.  Same as many of the trolls here who obviously don't believe the conspiracy theories they espouse, but do it to mess with other posters.

If so, why do the rest of western world, Russians, Chinese sit back and let Usa cheat the world with fake news?

Have anyone ever thought about that? Why would any competitor accept the lie?

the fake news is only for the masses.

the elites in each country are the only ones who really know what's going on with the moon.

we don't know squat. so all we have is speculation. and a lot of conspiracy guys are CIA, so they're spewing out a mixed bag of lies as well.

I think most of the posters you refer to, simply want to collect mojoes.

I am quite sure that YOU did NOT land on the Moon.

Are you using the inclusive or exclusive WE, by the way....

Meaning....

a question of clusivity, in this case.

Some people have been to the Moon, obviously.

Though I have not.

Some people will soon return to the Moon, obviously.

But I will not.

Yes.

I do know why.

The word Moon is derived from the word Monday.

It is Monday which is the day of the week that is most apt to drive humans crazy.

More people Go Postal on Mondays, as well.

Of course the Americans didn't do the deed. Simply a hoax. Along with most other ground-breaking events.

There are even bigger whoppers. The two 'so-called' atom bombs that supposedly hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki for one. But another topic for that hot spud.

Talk about conspiracy theories. I think some people are just too comfortable not having to deal with knowledge.

I remember someone explained it like this: Imagine how many people would have to be involved to fake this. And then remember that all those people would have to be quiet about that forever, maybe 50 years or more.

How likely is that?

Not likely. We were there, I remember because I seen it on tv after watching bugs bunny cartoons in the morning. so it must be true

In the compelling documentary "Fly Me to the Moon: The Black Cat Revelation", researchers unravel a strange twist in the moon landing saga, uncovering a black cat faintly visible in several high-resolution scans of supposed "studio backup" images. These images, intended as a contingency for media distribution in case of transmission failure, were produced on Earth and accidentally leaked alongside the authentic lunar footage. The cat, likely wandering onto the set during production, was unnoticed at the time but later revealed in archival scrutiny. Experts now argue that the studio images, riddled with minor inconsistencies like the feline, serve as proof that the real moon landings were streamed live from the lunar surface—distinct from these imperfect backups. Ironically, the cat’s unexpected presence underscores the truth: the Apollo missions were genuine, while the staged backups were an insurance policy that never needed deployment.
