DrJack54 Posted yesterday at 02:56 AM Posted yesterday at 02:56 AM OP, from another of your threads seems you located Bangkok. Here is form CW use for transfer of stamps List of requirements at bottom of form https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=995063&key=4ad28e64c063398b61d0a726240743c6 Be aware there is no urgency to transfer stamps. You can do that when have business with immigration eg extension. Be aware that if extension is based on retirement immigration at CW are requiring presentation of bank book and photocopies and update to show compliance with the financial requirements.

I will soon have to transfer my 9-year-old son's Extension to his new passport. Does he physically have to be present at CW Immigration or can I do it on his behalf? His Extension is based on being my dependant (I have a Work Extension). 1

Have read some offices require child to be present. Sounds ridiculous. The stamps need to be transferred at immigration office where was issued. From memory you're located Rayong and extensions issued CW? Consider contacting agent eg @ThaiVisaCentre for definitive advice.

Yes, we live in Rayong and that's where our TM30s are for and where we do the 90-day reporting. But my employer is based in Bangkok so we have to go to CW every year for the Extensions. I had assumed a transfer to a new passport will also have to be done at CW, but it would be great if I didn't have to take my son out of school to do it! Hopefully someone can give definitive advice - maybe I should start a new thread, rather than hijack this one?
DrJack54 Posted yesterday at 03:37 AM Posted yesterday at 03:37 AM 14 minutes ago, brewsterbudgen said: Hopefully someone can give definitive advice - maybe I should start a new thread, rather than hijack this one? Surely someone has been in your situation. Yes the stamps will need to be done at CW as that's where issued. Various agents in Bangkok can advise. Does not mean you have to use one. However if I lived in Rayong an agent would be my preferred option if they offer that service. EDIT: Afterthought. Why bother transferring stamps. Son can travel abroad with both pp.. Have them transfered at time of next extension
KhunBENQ Posted yesterday at 03:51 AM Posted yesterday at 03:51 AM A Google translate from German embassy: Quote From March 1, 2023, the embassy will generally no longer issue certificates for the transfer of the Thai visa to the new German passport for the Thai immigration authorities. The Thai immigration authorities have already been informed of this change. Only in exceptional cases (passport loss, name change) will the certificate for the transfer of the visa continue to be issued by the embassy upon request Could bet I read similar on the Swiss consulate site.

Maybe someone else has other info, mine was at CM immigration.
damian Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Did mine last Monday. No letter required. On the back of the form it says under documents required: 'Certificate from Embassy (if it (sic) available). Of course they wanted a copy of every page of the old passport which in my case is around 80 pages - this was not on the list.
jonesthepost Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago Did you download the form required off the internet as I can not find it

You mention Bangkok in another thread also mobility issues. No need to transfer.stamps at this time. You could leave it till next annual extension https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=995063&key=4ad28e64c063398b61d0a726240743c6

Have them transfered at time of next extension I had thought of that, but will Immigration be OK with putting his Re-entry permit in a brand new, unused passport. Presumably they won't put one in his cancelled passport? Although we use CW for our Extensions, I've been able to get Re-entry permits in Rayong, and obviously we could get them at the airport as well.

Not sure I follow. Does he currently have an existing reentry permit in old pp? If he does then just travel with both passports

No certificate or letter was given. But no letter was required. I simply completed the form as provided in the link above by DrJack54 and the visa stamp was transferred from my old into my new passport. This was free of charge and pretty straightforward other than the fact that they required a copy of every page from my old passport.

rockedbottom Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago At CW, Bangkok, which counter for transfer of visa extension? Will I have to strategize that trip the same way as my annual extension in order to not spend all day waiting?

So most likely L32 etc. If you have any business coming up at immigration you could wait and do transfers at that time. What type of extension do you have. If retirement then be aware that they are also checking your financial compliance.
