No indication of how many further Thai hostages (if any) there are yet to be released.

Lesson for Thai workers interested in making money in other countries: Choose your other country carefully!

Indeed. Finland, where I worked, is a much better, safer choice, albeit too cold.

The Indian IT specialist might have a choice.

But unskilled laborer from Thailand?

The pressure is big to escape the poor life here.

I agree. But there are still choices besides Israel that an agricultural worker can make - Oz, Finland, US? (at least pre-Trump), Canada?

I doubt very much whether the Palestinians will be in a position to take any more hostages any time soon .

Israel should be quite safe in the future

I doubt very much whether Hams will be in a position to attack Israel again , they are now in a much worse condition than prior to Oct 7 th .

If they try anything, even just one bomb going to Israel , Israel will end the ceasefire and continue the destruction if Gaza

Plus the typical folks who go abroad to work are very naive about the world at large, the dangers, the very limited protections and medical services / help available to them and who / how to contact for help and many very probably can't read English let alone the Israeli language.

And are at the mercy of ruthless employers who will have no hesitation to cheat them.

I wonder how often they are contacted by the Thai ambassador to Israel or any other Thai officials posted to Israel.
