aldriglikvid Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Hi fellas, I acquired Bike Insurance + "Compulsory Insurance" via Roojai and received, essentially, two different documents: 1 x Class 1 Bike Insurance @ ~3500 THB 1 x "Compulsory Insurance" @ ~650 THB Is the second one what's commonly called "road tax" (or similar)? I've not received any of those pink stickers and I wasn't sure if it was needed when I applied online, or if I simply acquired the wrong insurance. Thanks!
scubascuba3 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Road tax is separate, it's the square people attach to their motorbike

You just have got your Insurance, for Road Tax you have to go to the DLT. 4
Popular Post Etaoin Shrdlu Posted February 1 Popular Post Posted February 1 You'll need to take the compulsory insurance document (Por Ror Bor) to the DLT and present it when you pay the road tax. You'll then get the square proof of road tax payment sticker to attach to your bike. 1 2 1
aldriglikvid Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Very clear! Appreciate it. From memory, the symbol I've attached below indicates that the shop/center is able to renew road tax (and make inspections and other things). Is it your understand that they can sell a "new" road tax sticker as well? Would save me a trip out to the DLT. 1 1

They will get it for you from the transport office, they charge another 150+ baht plus tax charge. Usually next day 2

Plus they do test brakes, steering, lights, emissions etc and take the results to the DLT when they renew the tax and reissue the compulsory insurance. Great service. 1

Check your bill carefully, they seem to be splitting the charge so it's disguised

My insurance company issued me with papers and a sticker with phone numbers to call them if I had an accident , they also told me not to say anything until they got there, i had a couple of miner scrapes, with Thais backing into me and they were there in 20 minutes and sorted everything, I didn't have to pay anything.
