No one is making a claim on her house, it is not part of the deceased's estate.

Don't take life so seriously, no one gets out alive anyway.

She lucky that she didn't appoint any of the, obviously highly knowledgeable, AN legal eagles to represent her!

As far as I can see most AN members think she shouldn't get anything.

Which none of them claim is a 'legal opinion'.

Thai law does not come into this, the case is being brought under UK law!

Wow, up until this comment, I was agreeing with you... even so, this comment is correct... BUT, irrelevant, as he was comparing NZ and UK law... NOT thai law.

He specifically compared Thai and UK law.

Why should you assume that?

I see. You would carry on paying somebody that you split up with. That is extremely generous of you.

Disgusting, greedy gold-digging cow.

I hope the London high court awards her nothing except her deportation papers.

The poor old sod mst have given her a fair bit of cabbage before he died because how else could she afford to pay for the air ticket to london and the bond she has to put up for the legal fees ??...or maybe she will pay the lawyers fees in kind..on her back.

Maybe her solicitor has taken the case on a " no win , no fee basis " ? Can`t see how she even has a leg to stand on though - no written proofs or contracts , and a " common law wife " has no meaning in English law . Besides , she got the house , what more does she want ?

I thought at first this was a challenge of the will. It is extremely unlikely that would be a no win no fee basis. No win no fee are generally for accident claims where there is an almost certainty of winning. But given the case is against the sons may be. But with no win no fee in the event of a win after fees there is very little for the plaintif.

I say good luck to her,she will definitely need it, Contesting a will is not an easy thing to do in the Uk.  There must be thousands of Thai women in a similar situation, who's husbands simply just never got round to updating their wills, which is not the sort of thing that rushes to the front of ones mind when one might be enjoying a late life burst of happiness or romance.

Let the courts decide and keep the Thai bashing to yourselves

My first thoughts but she is not contesting the will. She is going after the two sons. So even more bizarre.

Where was it reported that, apart from geographically, they had "split up" their relationship?

"nstead, she highlights a rift that supposedly materialised when Burrage left Thailand for the UK, a move Kanokporn allegedly tried to counteract by urging his return." Is that not splitting up? It mentions a "rift" and she urged "his return".

He specifically said "Thai laws don't stand up in NZ, so probably won't in England" so was clearly comparing what wouldn't stand up in NZ, and probably won't in UK law..... mate, you seem to have trouble understanding simple English, comprehension is not your strongest point. I know your ego doesn't not allow you to admit your wrong, so I will leave it up to all readers to draw their own conclusion... have a nice day... this is all I have to say, on this topic.
