Bangkok police have arrested three Chinese men for allegedly operating an illegal online gambling network with over 200,000 members and a daily turnover of more than 2 million baht.

Tourist Police raided a luxury condo in Huai Khwang on February 4, capturing 41-year-old Wen Chong, 24-year-old Peng Cheng, and 31-year-old Po Hong. These individuals were tied to Dafabet, a Cambodia-based gambling site reportedly owned by Chinese investors involved in "grey" businesses.

During the raid, authorities seized five computers, 11 mobile phones, 13 SIM cards, an OTP token, 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a small amount of crystal meth, commonly known as Ice.

Police Lieutenant General Saksira Pheuk-am of the Tourist Police Bureau noted that the suspects were renting the condo for 100,000 baht per month despite having no clear employment, raising suspicions that led to their capture.

"The first and third suspects, Wen and Po, are also wanted by the Chinese government," General Saksira revealed.

The suspects face charges for operating illegal gambling websites, drug possession, and possessing illegal ammunition. They have been handed over to Huai Khwang Police for prosecution.

This arrest is part of a broader effort to crack down on illegal activities run by foreign nationals in Thailand, especially within the gambling sector. Police remain committed to shutting down international criminal networks operating in the country, many backed by foreign investors.

That's not chump change...

Dafabet

That company has partnered in the past with Everton FC, Alan Shearer, Warwick & Edgbaston Cricket Club, among many others. Strange to see them associated with dodgy Chinese-Burmese activities.
