In the early hours of today a pickup truck accident resulted in the death of the driver in Chachoengsao province.

The incident occurred near Bang Phai Canal in Samet Tai subdistrict, Bang Khla district. Police were alerted around 3am today, February 5, and police, along with rescue teams from Chachoengsao, quickly arrived at the scene.

Upon arrival, a Mazda BT-50 PRO pickup truck was found overturned in the water. Nearby residents had tried to help by extracting the driver from the vehicle, but unfortunately, he could not be saved in time and was found deceased inside the truck.

The driver was identified as Somyot (surname withheld), whose ID card indicated his birthday was on February 18, just 13 days away.

Locals Suphin (surname withheld) reported seeing lights accompanied by barking dogs, initially assuming it was fishermen in the area. However, upon investigation, he discovered it was the headlights of the overturned pickup truck. Another witness, 57 year old Wisut (surname withheld), arrived at the scene and attempted to rescue the driver.

Despite finding the car door still operable, he found the driver already dead, with signs indicating drowning, reported KhaoSod.

The police are continuing their investigation to determine the precise cause of the accident.
