Georgealbert Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Picture from responders. A 37-year-old woman lost her life last night after a stray dog ran into the road, causing her causing her to lose control of her motorbike and collide with an oncoming pickup truck, which then ran over her before fleeing the scene. The fatal crassh occurred at approximately 23:30 on 7 February along the Nakhon Nayok–Khao Thaleuan Road in Ban Yai, Mueang District, Nakhon Nayok. Police Lieutenant Surin Sombut of Nakhon Nayok Police Station received a report of a hit-and-run incident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. Rescue teams from Sawang Ariya Foundation and an on-call doctor were dispatched to the scene. Authorities discovered the body of Ms. Orawan 37, lying on the roadside. About 15 metres away, her red Vespa motorbike was found severely damaged. Debris from a vehicle’s front bumper and a license plate, “XCh-XX91 Nakhon Nayok,” were also recovered at the scene. Ms. Orawan had suffered fatal head injuries, and her body was sent to SWU Ongkharak Hospital for an autopsy before being released to her family. Eyewitnesses reported that they were riding their motorbikes nearby when they saw Ms. Orawan’s motorbike veer out of control after a dog ran in front of it. She crashed into an oncoming bronze-coloured pickup truck, which then ran over her. The pickup driver briefly stopped, got out of the vehicle to check the scene, but did not call for emergency assistance. Instead, they quickly got back into the vehicle and drove away before rescue teams arrived. Police are now investigating the case further and are working to track down the driver of the pickup truck using the license plate found at the scene. Legal action will be pursued against them as part of the ongoing investigation. -- 2025-02-09 1
