The State Department appears likely to award a $400 million contract to tech billionaire Elon Musk's Tesla Motors to deliver an "armoured Tesla" to the federal government — a procurement forecast first modified in December, before President Donald Trump was sworn in but after he was elected, according to Drop Site News.

The award — which raises questions about a conflict of interest — also comes as Musk pushes for the shutdown of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and plans to release a new financial services product on his X platform that stood to be regulated by the agency.

  On Wednesday night, February 12, a U.S. State Department procurement document was edited to remove Tesla's name. This followed media reports of a $400 million contract for Tesla.

The document was timestamped December 23, 2024.

According to Bloomberg News reporter Dana Hull, the document now lists a "generic designation" of "armored electric vehicles."

Hull reports, "Tesla's name had appeared in the document near that of BMW AG, whose armored X5 and X7 SUVs the State Department is also planning to buy."

The alteration of the procurement document is inspiring a lot of reactions on the Musk-owned X.com.

Jeremy Martinus posted, "Breaking news: The government's $400M Tesla contract is now labeled 'Armored Electric V.

Former Irvington, New York Mayor Brian C. Smith commented, "How about this @elonmusk from @business 'The State Department amended a $400 million Armored Tesla budget item to remove the company name after reports emerged questioning Elon Musk’s role in government spending.' In an analysis by the WaPo's Aaron Blake, he made a distinction between accusations of criminal fraud –– of which there is little evidence –– and waste which has long been an obsession on both sides of the aisle.

As he wrote, "This has been the story of Trump’s broader efforts to overhaul the government: big, hyperbolic claims without much to back them up. Even if you expand the money supposedly being rooted out to include fraud and alleged waste, The Washington Post’s Fact Checker, Glenn Kessler, notes that DOGE has publicly identified 'only about $2 billion in annual savings from specific line items' — a tiny drop in the bucket."

"They seem to be having trouble locating the actual fraud. They keep saying they’ve uncovered fraud. But when pressed for evidence, they don’t seem to have much or any," Blake accused before ending with, "And that’s a problem when you’re using that as your justification for dismantling large portions of the government."

Could Elon not incorporate a web of 20 LLC's to hide benefitting from state contracts? It is well recognized this is the magic number of LLC's that bamboozles the left and is totally above funds being traced.
