Pattaya is about to unveil its newly renovated Lan Pho Naklua Seafood Market, transforming it into a modern space for fresh seafood lovers. Deputy Mayor Wuttisak Ruemkijakarn led an inspection on February 11, joined by local officials and community members.

The revamp aims to offer an organized, inviting environment for both tourists and residents. With 90% of the construction complete, officials anticipate it will boost local incomes. The market will now feature a clean, hygienic area for up to 60 vendors.

All vendors will return soon, with no additional stalls permitted, ensuring a neat setup. Waste management systems will be in place, and vendors are urged to maintain fair prices and cleanliness to enhance the market's appeal. The grand opening will soon invite everyone to enjoy its fresh seafood offerings, reported The Thaiger.

Our local wet sea-food market has earned the tag "stink-alley"

vendors sit aside the stalls, cleaning, gutting, descaling fish and god knows what else and just hose it down the gutters..

Those with a sensitive stomach beware, tourists rather than finding it an attraction about turn in utter disgust at the smell and lack of cleanliness/hygiene and walk the other way.

I used to drive all the way towards Chonburi City for that sort of thing, Ang Sila I think it was, a large pier. Is this Naklua area going to be possible to drive to and park?

I look forward to reading future reports verifying this.

You always used to be able to - parking was either in front or round the back behind it.

Was much more compact then the Ang Sila pier selling area.

I haven't been for a few years but didn't they also build some white elephant car park there or close to there on what had been a park/sitting area?

It wold be very nice if sea food was available in Essan. One day they may discover refrigerated transportation?

Of course, can't have a nice park around here when concrete white elephants /city hall/kickbacks can be had.Screenshot_2025-02-12-15-50-18-817_jp.naver_line.android.jpg.79cd434a232e18628593e76400786072.jpgIMG_20250212_124834.jpg.7fb8e411891b209115883fc5524595f5.jpg
