You don't read well. One of Elon's staff still holding his day job as a CEO of a software company. Flashing red lights for conflict of interest. Try harder to understand simple terminology.

How is being a CEO of a software company a conflict of interest?

That you seem to be unable to answer a simple question, yet are so condescending is amusing, albeit a bit sad.

Ah, ha!

Now you're already discovering a basic flaw in taxing income and not assets.

Rich people don't have incomes.

They're bums.

They don't touch product.

They make phone calls and have meetings and go to ketamine parties on yachts.

C'mon.

Don't you know anything about how rich TechBros live?

No income, no income taxes.

Billionaires have assets that they borrow against.

Loans are not income.

They pay back the loans with more shares of their assets.

It's a loophole in the income tax model.

And rich people don't want to change that.

Bernie Sanders does.

You've been duped by Billionaires. 😘

Not difficult to understand conflict of interest if you not so desperate to defend Musk's action. Civil servants and elected official (not Elon) are often bound by tight disclosure requirements an ethics guidelines designed to curb conflict of interest and them from profiting from their work. Even the White House's spokeperson acknowledged that there are conflict of interest and expect Elon to monitor and address the conflicts :cheesy:

Why did you snip my post? Again,

Are you against using AI to find people with money they have illegally and ferreting out tax evaders?

Do you Just want to hire more people and let them work from home?

A lot of Republicans would support a flat tax or some-such, it's the left that is against it.

I say set up an AI program that identifies returns that are suspect.

But you're not going to catch many 1%ers evading taxes, you'll just catch a bunch of small business owners.

Just change the pay structure at the IRS such that they get a base pay of $30K and 10% of the fraud they recover.

The top 1% of wage earners pay 40.4% of the total federal income taxes paid

The top 5% of wage earners pay 61.0% of the total federal income taxes paid

The top 10% of wage earners pay 72.0% of the total federal income taxes paid

The top 25% of wage earners pay 87.2% of the total federal income taxes paid

The top 50% of wage earners pay 97% of the total federal income taxes paid

The bottom 50% of wage earners pay 3% of the total federal income taxes paid

Bernie Sanders is a fool, and taxing assets is moronic.

I understand what a conflict of interest is.

Again, how is being a CEO of a software company a conflict of interest?

That you are still unable to answer that simple question and yet still double-down pretending you know that you are talking about is even sadder.

Data are goldmine for corporations. These are taxpayer personal data. They can be used for target advertising, product development, website, app optimization, personalization or even sell the data to thrid parties as a revenue stream. But not to worry as Elon will self policed any conflict of interest.

I understand all of that, and it is all true. But it does not make being being a CEO of a software company a conflict of interest.

You seem to be confusing conflicts of interest with participating in blatant criminal activity. If what you are saying is that a smart IT guy with access to the system can steal data and use it for personal gain, that is true, but it's still not a conflict of interest.

Any smart IT guy with access to the system, of which there are many, could do the same thing.

I am not concerned that Elon is going to steal data and sell it. You are, I get it.

But there will be issues that are conflicts that I expect will be identified. Everything seems to be pretty out in the open so far.

You think Elon and Trump are stupid, greedy and evil. We disagree on that.

If so, Elon will have no problem submitting his conflict of interest report to Congress which was due on 15 Feb. and since passed.

Elon serves at the pleasure of the President. Has the President asked Elon to submit a conflict-of-interest report to Congress?

LOL - most of the wealthy have 0 in wages and your rant above completely ignores that fact.  The wealthy own businesses >> no wages, or live off investment income >> no wages.  Only ill informed small business owners with simple ownership structures are considered self-employed and earn "wages".

The taxation of wage earners in USA is not well thought out.

Maybe simple english is difficult for you, I have no idea.

No, I already knew that. 😄

You said Immigrants are the problem in America (native born Americans commit crimes more than immigrants).

You want us to believe immigrants are both lazy and living large off welfare but are stealing our jobs by working harder for less than lazy, spoiled people born in America? Which is it?

I got news for you on who is holding down wages...

Republicans.  $7.50 an hour minimum wage, they refuse to raise it.

At least you acknowledge immigrants have NOTHING to do with actual problems facing the Middle Class, including MAGA voters.

In fact, getting rid of hard working immigrants is only going to raise inflation even more.

You keep repeating Far Right propaganda, it has nothing to do with hard working America's kitchen table politics.

You're extremists.

LOL - Income is not only wages. Income from a business is taxable, and the owner typically takes a salary as well, which is also taxable.

Investment income is also taxable

Gains on the sale of stock options are taxable

CEO bonuses are taxable

Like most leftists, you conflate legal immigrants with illegal aliens.

There is no evidence that illegal aliens commit fewer crimes per-capita than citizens, this is just a leftist lie based on a phony study.

Illegal immigrants drive down wages and drive up the cost of housing. To say they do not is to defy supply and demand.

I love that the same leftists that claim illegal aliens keep prices down with cheap labor but somehow don't seem to give a whit about prices when they when they want to use the minimum wage to pander for votes, or when they want to raise corporate income taxes, both of which drive up prices.

Mass Illegal immigration benefits the rich on the backs of the poor, that's why the left loves it.

Gaslighting rubbish.

A 2020 federal study based on Texas Department of Public Safety data found that immigrants of all legal statuses were arrested at:

* half the rate of U.S.-born citizens for violent and drug crimes

*quarter of the rate of the U.S. born for property crimes

*Unauthorized immigrants in Texas by far had the lowest offending rates compared to the U.S. born and lawfully present immigrants

Liar.  😂

No kidding ? You're feelings are getting in the way of you using your brain.
I said theres nothing on your IRS return that can't be found easily. Using a vehicle lic. number is only one of the things used to find that info.

You cannot legally access someone else's tax return using their driver license. There are strict privacy laws enforced by IRS. Driver license or additional personal information will not gain you access without authorization.

Elementary but seem to evade your common sense.

Good, it can't happen fast enough. We've been taken advantage of by immigrants who don't come here to become American but to live just like they did in the rat holes they came from AND our own politicians for far too long. Time to close up shop and fix ourselves, nobody.
America is almost always the first on scene to help others, know who helped up when the Carolinas and E.TN flooded ? How about the latest fires in Calif. ?  Its easy, its the same exact countries, nobody. Exactly nobody came to help. There was a good bit of lip service but still, nobody came.
We can't leave the UN and NATO soon enough.

Luckily for us, we have the room and the resources to bring almost all manufacturing back inside our borders like it used to be.

anybody see this one yet   .  they uncovered almost 395 "MILLION" Social Security payouts  but but but.... the US population was last recorded at

       334.9 million (2023)

check out the breakdown

That you deleted the portion of my comment about the phony study you used in your post proved how dishonest you are.
