it's the way ofthe world, not thailand's fault. thailand has been behind the banking security curve and is starting to catch up.

if you really desire to live in a country with dodgy banking security go elsewhere... :coffee1:

I have a ligit account and no banking problems, for years

Why can't this be in the banking app?

Surely the bank can code the simple test of whether or not the account has had the requisite amount of money within it and at all of the right times.

So let us use our banking apps to request one of those receipt things and then send it to immigration, or in the alternative, an agent, who we can then pay to do the paperwork and so forth.

No need for the trip to the bank.  Think of all of the time and aggravation saved.

I want this, and that's as good a reason as any to do it.

There are no signs that opening bank accounts are getting easier.

I fail to see the uproar. Why should a tourist be able to open a bank account? They can't in any other country.

Get a proper long term visa and you can walk into any bank in person with legit ID and open it. DTV isn't a long term visa and some people need to get over that.

People also ask

Can I open bank account in USA on tourist visa?

When traveling to the United States, whether for leisure, business, or education, managing finances can be a significant concern. Many tourists wonder, “Can I open a bank account in the U.S. as a visitor?” The short answer is yes, but the process can vary depending on the bank and your documentation.Jan 3, 2025

By the way, also don't need to be a resident to own property (the land) in the US, accordingly, can you kindly speak to the King about that? Reciprocity and all that.

How to open a U.S. bank account for non-residents

Why the bozos are joining BRICS. Since too stupid to understand, well, some not so smart soul wrote something about the 800K used to keep the riff raff out. Hardly. You don't meet the income test so their banks can use your 800K to make money, FOR THEM. You see, lad, or lass, as the circumstance might be, and, no, I could give a rip about your gender pronoun, so don't bother, but if you're at or above the income, well, how much will you be spending? Add on your Thai vagina and yet another Thai who sees you as an ATM. Re fraud, indeed stupid, since the US has some doing the fraud thing, as do others too, but you don't let that get in the way of making money. Simply recall that the essence of capitalism is capital.

To round it out, the LOFS has an abysmal road fatality rate and it took some dead kids to get them to even pretend to care. As some have suggested, if more diffulty getting an account while not resident, pay an agent to do it for you. More dollars/euros FOR THEM. As opposed to crocodile tears over fraud.
