Elon Musk Demands Federal Workers Justify Their Jobs or Face Dismissal

Recommended Posts

But, is the GEEK wrong this time?

Does Musk lack empathy?

And, is the request for supporting evidence for work done ill-planned, even foolish?

The  Geek says Elon is wrong.

Yet, commentors disagree...

Start with the reports

They need to be able to track what each employee is getting done each week and then set some metrics.

Although no employee ever enjoys this kind of thing...It does make perfect sense.

Everyone must justify the value of work or the value of research.

This is why research proposals must be submitted and approved.

At first, it seemed quite odd, Elon's request I mean.

However, it is not so odd when looking at the marketplace.

Apparently, the request was a very easy one, and not time-consuming.

So then, why the uproar?

And why the refusal to comply with the request?

So, if someone that was making $50K a year was doing what Musk is doing it would be okay?

Public education gets worse every year. WTF is the Dept. of Education doing?

The email instructed people in sensitive jobs to describe what they have been working on for the past week and give details of their management.

Were the replies supposed to go to the kids at DOGE for mishandling or sent directly to Putin?  Al Qaeda might be interested, too.

Musk and Assistant President Trump know very little about the structure and functions of US government.

The good employees love that someone is paying attention to who is getting what done.

You are a liar.

"“Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week,” Musk posted. “Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”

Shortly thereafter, government workers across multiple agencies received a brief email with the subject line: “What did you do last week?” The message instructed them to reply with five bullet points outlining their accomplishments and to copy their manager.""

Was there proof of that from Patel himself?

Elon Musk is not their employer. He has not been appointed to any official position in the government, so he has no authority whatsoever. Maybe he should spend a little more time focusing on his own businesses (like X and Tesla) which do not seem to be performing very well as of late.

He has though, don't be a complete clown

By GEEK, I did not mean Elon.

I was not referring to Musk.

I was pointing out that the guy doing the analysis in the video is the Geek.

He usually is correct.

But this time, maybe not.

Do you mean that Musk has been officially appointed? Do you have any proof for that?

Probably: "agents that wish to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation", but even if it is, who cares?

Its actually astonishing that this isn't standard practice everywhere. Private companies revue costs and employee performance regularly. Why should public employees and services receive special treatment, does nobody care where public money is spent?

It's amusing that the left thinks they are going to get working people in the US that pay taxes to feel sorry for government that make pretty good dough and have great benefits because they are being asked to show up their air-conditioned office and list five things a week that they get done.

"Former administration official"

Funny, justify your existence... okay in goverment positions as much incompetence is perpetuated into the system through defaut these days... but will surely rile the freeloaders.

That the left thinks anyone still believes their silly "fact checkers" is hilarious. You guys overplayed your hand, and your phony media has lost all credibility.

Every public service tends to get loaded up with too many drones. The more people managers hire under them the higher they rise. They definitely need a purge but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Some perform essential services that need to continue.
