A lot of people haven't a clue about the extrajudicial killing of drug traffickers, or the massive fraud that led to him fleeing the country.

I still remember when it was reported that Mr T's company sold one of their commercial satellites to the Junta in Myanmar for USD $750 million but, the Junta only had USD $250 million down payment. No worries as "mates rates apply" - Mr T's government apparently (widely reported at the time) gave Myanmar a 'soft loan on the Thai govt' for the other $500 million. Hmm ?  Isn't that, sort of, well, how do I put this very tactfully (this is LOS after all - they make the litigious USA look like amateurs sometimes) just a wee bit, a tad almost, 'dodgy' ? Almost a "conflict of interest" perhaps ? Oh darn it, of course  (I nearly forgot) - the 'third rule' always applies here (with apologies to fans of big Arnold's 'Twins' movie) ........... "TIT" ..........

I’m talking about him making missteps on illegal immigration policy for us in the UK . Would be very much welcome.

Just looking anywhere for ideas I think 🤔

Because the government of the UK  obviously have no idea on how to stop illegal immigrants.

In fact they appear to be encouraging them.

If he's admitted that it's his fault then lock him up and throw the key away. OH I forgot he will get sick again and only spend 10 minutes in prison like he did before, he is a disgrace to Thailand and the Thai people he stole the election from the person that really won it.

non -binding guidelines and replaced as of 2006.

"Lawyers have suggested that Thaksin's drug war might amount to a crime against humanity under Article Seven of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court [ICC], set up in 1992."

Thaksin finds this funny. "I've done nothing wrong!" he laughs. "I just give the policy."

Human rights commissioner Wasant Panich thinks otherwise. "Those who devised the policy are primarily responsible for the deaths," he says. Mr Wasant believes that only the threat of an ICC trial will ensure this kind of incident never happens. Thailand signed the Rome Statute in 2000 but, under Thaksin, didn't ratify it. because he is a coward !

Absolute brutalization of those arrested. When an arrested individual dies of suffocation on your watch, during transport, you have an awful lot to answer for. That blood will always be on your hands Thaksin. And the RTP. An apology is simply an attempt to whitewash your own history, so sorry we're not buying it.

You are a plague on your nation. You stole an election from the people and you will not be forgiven for any of it, ever.

I do take your point about Thaksin and I agree with almost all of your posts, but let me point out that when I first came to Thailand to stay Thaksin was the PM in 2005.

As an expat I compare Thailand then and now, Thailand is much worse now, but compared to the UK the good still outweighs the bad.

No amout of justification or apology can bring those people back, What Thaskin and Prawit did are the same as the death camps in WW2, At least some of the perpetrators in WW2 where brought to justice, here NON !!! Thailand should be ashamed !!

I know and intend to know little of Thai politics.

Thai culture seems to be the go to response so I just gave it a whirl.

Quote: "If there was anything wrong that causes dissatisfaction, I apologise............"unquote.

A diplomatic and false excuse. Because in my opnion his words mean that he himself doubts if there was anything wrong.

If he had been honest, then he should have said: "This was absolutely wrong and I apologise......

I have decided to come out of my cave "which you wanted me to go into" and agree with you entirely. 100% correct.

Of course many of us know that, but we aren't brainwashed locals who couldn't give a ratsar$e as it doesn't make any difference to them

the people care unfortunaltey the PTP is supported by him and he is and always has been the leader of the party.  People are loyal to him just as Dems were loyal to Kamala and Joe.  If there is o Thaksin there is o PTP.  If there was not Thaksin there really would not have been a red shirt movement

I agree. But how much of that is due to Thaksin and how much of that is due to the changing world?

In general I do feel that Thailand has been moving backwards for at least 20 years.

Thaskin did very little when he was in power apart from lining his own pockets !! people say he started the 30 baht system, yes it was implemented in 2002, but it was not his idea it was being worked on in the eightys a long time before Thaskin, he just took the credit ! yes  you are correct Thailand has been  moving backwards for at least 20 years. there really has not been a stable goverment since then.

Was anyone held accountable for these deaths which were easily avoided?

I think not, does his daughter know about these things about his despicable daddy?

Zero accountability for this joker! But go after all the people bringing money into your country and let criminals like Thraksin make a mockery of the Thia judicial system. (golf clap)
