The Royal Thai Police (RTP) are ramping up efforts to tackle illegal e-cigarette sales, especially around schools, to protect children and youth. Following a government directive, Police Commissioner Kittirat Phanphet initiated strict vigilance against these sales, with a strong focus near educational and religious institutions.

On February 24, RTP spokesperson Police Lieutenant General Achayon Kraithong highlighted the urgency of the initiative, which extends to monitoring smuggling activities at borders and airports. This effort is in collaboration with agencies like the Customs Department.

Police units will also work closely with local agencies to gather information and carry out joint operations for inspections and arrests. Investigations will be thorough, ensuring all cases are explored deeply.

Officers are strictly warned against corruption or negligence. Violations will face severe disciplinary, criminal, and administrative consequences, reported The Thaiger.

It is all about e cigarettes that are in fact less harmful than normal ones... But for the normal ones there is no witch hunt like for the e cigarettes.. Probably the rich and elite who owns these factories are afraid of losing their profits to e cigarettes.. Solve the problem with all smoking and make it very expensive.. People will stop, and the tabacco industry will die out

 "We need to ban vaping to "Save The ChildrenTM."
:coffee1: But cigarettes are Ok?
 "Of course cigarettes are good for children.  What are you? A conspiracy theorist? And good for the Thai economy!"
 Thought so.

Technically it is underground. Available only because the BIB are getting their weekly brown paper bags from those selling them and those further up the chain are getting bigger brown paper bags.

Vapes so dangerous meanwhile kids are raised with daily meth usage, lao kao abuse and cigarettes + general air pollution already is worse than smoking half a pack a day. Tobacco lobby must be smiling and celebrating over this most recent news event. Much better to get all the chems and toxins from that.

How to roll over the sheep public with just 1 or a few isolated events, subjective reporting + drama + bribe some politicians = done. It is like the emperor without clothes repeatedly.

Didn't they do this before, a few times?

Should be legal. Problem solved. No need to worry about BIB corruption then. Legal or illegal kids will still get their hands on them. Having said this I've seen way, way more "kids" smoking cigarettes than I have vaping and without doubt the cigs are far worse.

Should be illegal, or very expensive! Children are finding it  too appealing.

And society should protect its children, not old men who want their smokes.

I use to smoke cigs. Did for decades. Haven't had a cig for 10 months now. Vaping help me kick the tobacco addiction/habit. My lungs feel much better. I wonder how they'd feel without the incredibly high daily pm2.5 levels.
