Popular Post webfact Posted February 27 Popular Post Posted February 27 Picture courtesy: Daily News A Sergeant Major in Bangkok found himself facing multiple charges after a heated confrontation with police over a wheel clamp. The incident occurred on 26th February at a street in the Phayathai district. The man, identified as 59-year-old Sergeant Major Chayakrit, parked his car briefly to take his child to the restroom, only to return two minutes later and find authorities had clamped his wheel for parking during prohibited hours. In a fit of anger, Sergeant Major Chayakrit retrieved a machete from his boot and threatened the police. Witnesses described him as highly agitated, demanding the fine be settled on the spot instead of at the police station. The police, however, refused to comply, leading to a commotion that required reinforcement to de-escalate the situation. After negotiations, the authorities managed to convince Sergeant Major Chayakrit to put down the weapon. He was subsequently taken to the Phayathai Police Station. During a search, no illegal items were found in his vehicle, and his son was discovered sitting patiently inside. Chayakrit accepted responsibility for his actions, conceding that he had overreacted due to frustration over receiving the clamp just minutes past the allowed parking time. The police have charged him with obstructing traffic, illegal parking, carrying a weapon in public, and causing a public disturbance. He was fined a total of 900 Baht and released thereafter, reported Daily News. -- 2025-02-27 4 2 3

jcmj Posted February 27 Posted February 27 900 baht is a joke. He should be arrested and quickly excused from the force. Especially with that temper and attitude towards the police. 1 1
norfolkandchance Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Should have rounded it up to B1000. That would have learned him.
