And the markets fall for it hook line and sinker everytime. Just watch it will be cancelled. It's in his thick book 'art of the deal' or whatever it was called. Act the crazy man. Push it to the limit. Then compromise rite at the end. He actively watches the stock market, so he's not going to watch it sink. If he was that serious he would have just gone ahead and did it last month. He's just playing the big guy and wanting to act clever. But it's doing harm to America's repuation around the world as a competent partner. Or the markets may well just look at it as trying to get through the next 4 years. 2 1 1

Popular Post CapatainbeefheartB4 Posted March 4 Popular Post Posted March 4 What does ANY American absolutely need from Mexico or Canada that we can't get from another country or ourselves? I for one would not buy something 25 percent higher because they don't want to do their part to control our borders. If no one wants to buy another country's product, then what? Good luck to Mex/Can figuring it out. 3

Something had to be done. Democrats just put their heads into the sand. Let me fix that for ya nasdaq rose 100% after TRUMP ok hope that helps……now today in this space in time the Dow is down 1,400 points in the last 36 hours…..the world has seen trumps (art of the deal) in his trying to surrender Ukraine to his bestie putin…..after conceding each and every advantage to the enemy……like I said before ,a recession if we are lucky and obiously a lot of ill will directed our way thanks to the betrayer in chief.he is what he is to quote Rex tillerson an imbecile 1 2
Patong2021 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Trump's benefits sure have an odd way of showing; London’s FTSE 100 index tumbled 112 points to finish the day at 8,759, or a 1.27% fall, its biggest since October 8 last year. In the US, the S&P 500 plummeted more than 1.6% while the Dow Jones was 1.7% in the red as UK markets closed. The falls meant the S&P 500 returned to levels seen before November’s US election, with the so-called Trump Bounce, as coined by some investors, wiped out entirely. The U.S. dollar index hit its lowest level since Dec. 6, 2024 Sterling was up 0.2% against the dollar at 1.2723 😃 Who knows, maybe the over values US $ is going to take a bit of a tumble. That will put some spice into the lives of the Trump collective living in Thailand. 😁 1 1

sharot724 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Guys, I think Trump's plan is defaulting on US debt. https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/trump-says-us-might-have-less-debt-than-thought-2025-02-09/ What happens when you default? Well, you have to balance the books. How to do it? By cutting government expenditure. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/debt-ceiling-trump-default/story?id=116955286 1 1
JimHuaHin Posted March 5 Posted March 5 As markets sink deeper and deeper, many on this forum will probably be worried as their retirement funds are linked to stock market investments - ergo, stock markets collapse, and stay down, retirement benefits disappear. 1
CallumWK Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Bully boy seems already to have another change of mind. AGAIN https://finance.yahoo.com/news/wall-street-wonders-trump-steps-154944977.html His commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, told Fox Business Network that Trump may offer a pathway for tariff relief for Mexico and Canada on Wednesday.

Global diversity is the key. Don't go all in with US investments. Hold a bond ETF. It's elevator brakes when the cables on equities snap. At any rate everything is out of your control when you're not in The Big Club.

You'd have to be a fool not to think this would always be a possibility. Has to go back as far as 1812 for an attempt to invade Canada by USA. Now it’s only a wet dream for people like Trump and maybe you too. Cultural and political distinctively different, legal obstacles and the most importantly the public opinion against any form of union. Trump has made the relationship worse and the majority of Canadians detest him and America.
DonniePeverley Posted March 5 Posted March 5 As told, Trump saying compromise on tarrifs coming soon. All nonsense
