March 6, 20251 yr Thought are that premiums will go up as you claim more as you get older, plus be very transparent with known and unknown pre-existing conditions
March 6, 20251 yr And the above post left out this salient advice from JUN 2023: Those insured should also be self insured as a "claim denied" is likely and common.

I tried to make one claim in second year and it was never actually denied... but the claim was delayed by months and I was told that my premiums would rise if I made the claim, so I withdrew the claim. For 2025 my premium increased 41% despite never being paid for a claim. I sent 2 letters requesting an explanation for the rate rise and was ignored by the same agent that was very nice when I purchased the policy. I know the agent is still there but they did not care to reply. They "guarantee" they will not cancel policies if you start the policy before age 65 and continuously renew it...but annual premiums can rise dramatically -- especially if you start to make claims (it is called bait & switch!) Insurance companies do not want to pay claims because it reduces profits. Some people may have had a great experience with them...not me. Buyer beware.
March 6, 20251 yr I have my health insurance through Bangkok Life Assurance. In the 4 years I’ve had the policy I made 2 claims, both were paid promptly with no questions asked. My wife has a different policy and her agent mentioned that in the very near future policies will include deductibles and may even include copays. Our policies will not change as long as we keep paying our annual premiums. My policy has scheduled premium increases every 5 years and will cover me until age 85.
March 6, 20251 yr You're switching from April, one of the most expensive, to Pacific Cross, one of the cheapest?
March 6, 20251 yr Has anyone had any experience with "Henner Health Insurance" (French parent company). Reviews and web info looks good, but who knows. Thanks for any info.

Check out WRLIFE Wrlife have agreed cover for keyhole surgery for removal of early stage tumour on colon, and all pre op and post op procedures. Took a week or so, but it's expensive so I was happy they took their time. At BPH. They've covered all my claims to date, involving 12 days IP. Not difficult to deal with, either directly or through their agent. I had to hand deliver medical records from a previous hospital (Memorial) to the BKK offices of their underwriters, Assist International. Had a really good lady Bolt driver who found the offices, tucked away in a large modern office block off Rama IX. Extremely nice people there, English well spoken, impressive set up, IMHO. I was glad I made the trip. Put a lot of demons to rest. And my 2 year AFIB moratorium has completed, so I'm now covered for coronary. 10,700 pm at age 75.

I looked at changing at the end of last year but eventually rejected both the others you mention. Cigna - was going to end up more expensive probably in the long run with slightly less benefits. PC - as someone else mentioned have lots of exclusions depending on your age - get in young enough and it may be ok and if healthy you would certainly save money earlier on. I didn't want to take the risk. Currently considering for my next renewal a Thai Life policy (yes it has some Life Insurance part but overall may offer better value then April Int. ). The only issue for me is getting an English translation of their small print......

I was in contact with the CEO many times and ask him all these relevant questions. You could do the same.

March 8, 20251 yr Thank you. So, if someone were to say that '"claim denied" is likely and common' could one then infer the suggestion that the probability of a claim being denied exceeds the probability of a claim being paid?

Definitely but it's wise to keep fingers crossed at all times, it may help 🤞
March 8, 20251 yr So DEFINITELYT there is a higher probability of having a claim denied than having a claim paid. Thank you, Mr. Wise.

I have been in contact with the CEO, Patrick Lorentz as well and in my opinion the man would be better of washing dishes in a French country bistro.
