Popular Post richard_smith237 Posted Friday at 12:10 PM Popular Post Posted Friday at 12:10 PM How much (time) transfers across to the other Party ? Also I believe Thai Elite take 10% of the prevailing rate upon transfer. Mine is a Lifetime Membership (same perks)... But only 30 years transfers across. I know some earlier cards transfer lifetime across in which case yours is an excellent deal. The Problem is, a lot of members on here who may not have the money, don't see the value. ... those who may will try and lowball you. I've rejected 2MB a few times when trying to sell mine - its worth more to me than that. Best of luck in getting a genuine offer. 1 2 1 3

Popular Post saakura Posted Friday at 12:16 PM Popular Post Posted Friday at 12:16 PM Does it really cost $6m as indicated, and is it USA dollars? Sounds far too much money. 2 1 1

The equivalent of what the Op Carries is the Thai Elite Reserve priced at 5 Million Baht and is available by invitation only. - Membership is only 20 years. - Only remaining years can be transfered over. 1 2

Yes and you could also do it online Ralf is correct.. If you have the 5 year SE Visa thats renewed every 5 years for the rest of your life, then each 'entry' give you 90 days... You need to actually return to Immigration in person and get another 90 day extension. - This is one of (ok the one) flaw of the original memberships. Later memberships (i.e. 5 years) gave a 1 year visa which a member would need to renew every year... And obviously do the 90 day reports (online). 1 1
Popular Post Tom100 Posted Friday at 12:57 PM Popular Post Posted Friday at 12:57 PM I have the LTR Visa already with airport FastTrack access and unlimited reentry permit. My taxis to/from Chiang Mai airport cost me 100 baht. Since I do not golf or need to pay for massages, this is worth no more than 10,000 baht. Anyone want to offer him 1 more baht? Seriously, just because you paid a lot for this does not mean it has much value to most expats. 3 1 7

PE visa previously an option for some expats. For folk such as yourself with LTR etc that was a deal breaker. If the DTV holds up in future then why would anyone bother. Even guys such as myself doing annual extension retirement with 800k locked up are still in shock of DTV requirements (lack of) Santa Claus came unexpectedly. 1 1
Popular Post advancebooking Posted Friday at 01:13 PM Popular Post Posted Friday at 01:13 PM Who in their right mind is going to pay that sort of money for a visa. Its so easy to get a retirement visa. Its like the guys who buy a condo in bkk or pattaya and realise what a mistake bc they change their mind 3 yrs later and want to go and live elsewhere. Then impossible to sell the condo bc its overpriced high supply and lack of demand. Good luck selling it though! 1 1 2

To those truly interested, its not just about the Visa, but the perks that come with membership to. I don't have to ever prepare a load of Paperwork to submit for my Marriage or Retirement extension.... I simply go to Immigration, give them a card, sing something an its done. The annoyance of course is the frequency which which I have do do this (theoretically 4x per year) though in over 15 years of TE membership I've only had to do this twice as I travel so much. 2 1 1 1 2

Seriously though, on the similarly of membership, I'm not sure... I know that 30 years transfers on when I transfer mine. I know that another poster selling his Lifetime Membership Last year had it confirmed by Thai Elite that 'Life Time membership' passed along... So... it depends on the contract you have with TPE... The only way to get a firm answer is to e-mail them. 1 1

Im on the yearly marriage ext of stay. The docs are not so bad. I delegate one of my staff to do most of it. Its the same every year and quite quick process. Im now in the citizenship process which cost me 5000 baht. In a few yrs I will have a thai passport. You can have all the free massages you want. Im ok to pay 400 an hour. I dont play golf. Therefore I would never pay 6mill baht for a stamp and still be forced to go to immigration 4x a year. 1 1 2 1
ukrules Posted Friday at 03:50 PM Posted Friday at 03:50 PM I just extended my existing membership to the 20 year option, when I signed up there were 5 year and 20 year options. In the end I decided to stay longer term so got another 5 year and then the extra 15 years - total 1.5 million Baht. The lifetime option had long gone by the time I came along and I had not heard of it until the 5 year option came along. Still I'm all set until 2040 which will do me and it is very flexible especially if you do even a little bit of travel each year - even if you leave the country just once per year with the 1 year stamps you never need to extend in country but of course you still need to do the 90 day reports if you're in country more than 90 days. If you only stay for around 90 days then you don't even need to bother with them. Right now I'm traveling every 3 months so no need - just arrive and leave - never an issue. 1 1
