To repeat, what is wrong with a 1.5% tax on revenue? Or, tell me what is right with the current system, apart from employing armies of lawyers and tax accountants?

This is a stupid idea.   And your claim that a 1.5% tax on revenue will end government debt is laughable.

Revenue is simply income before expenses and deductions.

Is possible to have $millions in "revenue", yet make no money.

This is something expats in Thailand will have to watch out for if Thailand moves to global taxation.

In the US, capital losses may offset capital gains.  This is not the case in Thailand.

US expat can sell a stock for $1million, making $100K, then sell another stock for $500K, losing $100K.  gain = loss, no tax due to the IRS.

Under global taxation, the $100K gain is taxed as ordinary income, whereas the loss is not entered into the PIT calculations.

You persist in thinking about current taxation methods. End of discussion.

Taxing revenue is a dumb idea.  End of discussion.

You already care enough to be bothered to answer. Strange that.

It seems, Americans are even more thin-skinned than I thought. How pathetic.

Pot meet kettle.

Some states do this in the USA.  It's called a gross receipts tax.

  • Recent studies by Ufier (2014) and Adhikari (2015) link the abandonment of gross receipts taxes with increased production efficiency and growth in GDP per capita.

The AI Job Apocalypse is coming soon.

Has nothing to do with Trump, but with tech.

Thanks for pointing out the real apocalypse that is descending on humanity while the people that should be "doing something to prepare for it" are wasting time on stupid wars and illegal immigration etc.

As usual, nothing will be done till it's too late.

Perhaps it's time for WW3 to provide employment opportunities.

Yup, but they don't want to discuss that. They are fans of Ayn Rand and think the novel Atlas Shrugged is being played out now in real time and the conclusion is being delivered by Trump and his clowns.

As opposed to Harris and her cartoon advisors?

Asked about the difference between a recession and a depression, President Harry Truman said:

It's a recession when your neighbor loses his job; it's a depression when you lose your own.
