Let's start with a few problems, Debt and excessive spending these have been kicked down the road for 20 years.  We are at the point we are just paying the Interest.

I would like to see in 2028 there is a realistic long term plan to reduce debt to a reasonable level, our taxes are reduced, Healthcare and Prescription Drug prices are affordable, College Tuition is affordable, Wages allow for a decent quality of live with adding to returement savings possible.  This is the dream for the future in the US.

I'm not a label maker, don't have time to divide people and pick sides.

I am a problem and solution person, just want the job done.

The majority of posters here want trump shot, US market crash, US destroyed, without thinking about what thats going to do to their situation in whatever country they are living in. Seems like most here cant figure out what has left their home countries worse places, and how thats making the rest of the world worse as a result. Is western politics a case now of being careful what you wish for?

I disagree, as I think most posters here are ...

... completely ignorant of politics, economics & world affairs

... living month to month

... saving up for their next orgasm with another person

... hope to drink enough alcohol to forget their reality till tomorrow

... have no plan for next week, let alone next USA presidential cycle

... aren't Yanks but obsessed about the USA more than Yanks

... full of hate for everything  one can imagine

... wouldn't know what to do without the forum, as it seems to be their life

Well, I feel better ... :cheesy:

I am not sure it is possible. However, in terms of healthcare, America could do worse than to follow the Australian model. Our PBS system is very good.

Part of America's solution would be to limit the ability of lawyers ( we call them ambulance chasers ) to get eye-watering sums for medical malpractice. Some of the damages awarded are ludicrous.

This drives up the cost of professional  indemnity insurance, the doctors are forced to increase their fees, lawyers feast on the court cases.

I have posted on other threads how a tax on revenue would reverse the hollowing out of the middle class.

There is an AI job-apocalypse coming.

Societal collapse doesnt necessarily mean the end of the world. It could be a collapse to build something new and different. And better or worse? Who knows? Maybe that also depends on you. Some people don't like change and will always be nostalgic for "the good 'ol days".

The WEF (World Economic Forum) is planning "The Great Reset" for 2030, largely based on AI restructuring the economy.

Some people have dubbed what's coming as "Post-Labor Economics"

Hard to know what things will look like, but most likely some massive changes in how we live in the next 5-10 years.

Maybe the stock market will cease to exist as we know it? Stock market is corrupt anyway, as far as I'm concerned.

People think Trump is responsible for EVERYTHING. He's not.

Trump is listed in 2028 markets. The betting groups are having a laugh.

I find it annoying a good curry is so hard to find outside the big cities. Thais don't like curries.

Seeing as how President Trump is doing such a wonderful job cleaning up after the disaster that old sleepy Joe caused to the good citizens of the United States, I am looking forward to Trump's reelection in 2028. Life is looking good.

That's a troll of course. He's not allowed to run in 28. So you don't want a president. You want a God/King/Dictator.

A 20% market tumble this year is a certainty, as is the start of a Recession. Absent some dumb luck, more likely is a 50% market drop, double digit unemployment, and the US moving into a Depression. Tariffs, trade wars, alienating allies and yet more unnecessary tax cuts will do that.

We should revisit your prediction next year.

I remember back in 2020 when the ‘really stable geniuses’ of MAGAstan predicted a horrible 4 years under Biden. Well, they couldn’t have been more wrong. Since 2020, US economic growth was three times the average of other G7 nations, and was the highest US growth since under Bill Clinton in the 1990s. Biden presided over 41 straight months of <4% Unemployment, the longest streak in 64 years, and no President ever saw higher job creation.
