Musk's new FAA Starlink System Might Work Better

Featured Replies

Maybe. 😀

How Elon Musk Muscled His Way Into the FAA

The billionaire overseeing a wide-ranging government efficiency effort is offering his own SpaceX technology as the future of flight-safety inside the Federal Aviation Administration

Ahhh, don't worry about an untested system being sloppily deployed.

When has Musk's Jenius Team ever made basic math mistakes?

And he's always on schedule. 😄

"Full Self Driving mode is just around the corner"

When you get into a airplane do you want a 100% reliable Air Traffic System?

Or one that's only reliable during nice weather?

Moderate to heavy rain, snow, and hail can cause momentary service drops, while severe storms near ground stations can also affect service.

Don't worry, people.

Donald Trump knows more about Air Traffic Systems than the experts.

Of course he will make the right decisions.

Maybe. đŸ˜ŗ

Musk may have all the money in the world but he's making a lot of enemies with his divisive and obnoxious statements:

In that contentious cabinet meeting last week when Duffy squared off against musk, trump chimed in saying he wants MIT "geniuses" as air traffic controllers.

He means himself, of course. 😭

1. 2016 Campaign: Trump said, “My uncle was a great professor at MIT for many, many years. I like to say, ‘I had an uncle who was a great professor at MIT,’ so I’m smart.”

2. March 2020 (COVID-19 Response): Trump referenced his uncle when discussing his understanding of viruses, saying, “I like this stuff. I really get itâ€Ļ Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.”

3. Various Interviews & Speeches: He often used his uncle’s background to claim he had good instincts about science and technology.

Yeah, when I want to hear from a Science expert, I always choose one that's so bad at basic math, they bankrupt a casino.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Excuse my French, but Tim Walz's Midwestern common sense was 100% correct...

Musk is a dipsh*t.

Carlos Slim isn't some random guy running a taco truck. 😂

Few people realize it, but outside of China and India, AmÊrica MÃŗvil, S.A.B de C.V. (NYSE: AMX) is one of the largest wireless operators in the world.

Headquartered in Mexico City, AmÊrica MÃŗvil serves almost 298 million postpaid and prepaid wireless subscribers and nearly 81 million fixed line connections in 25 countries in Central and South America, the U.S., the Caribbean, and in parts of Central and Eastern Europe.

Then you've had some pretty <deleted>ty internet providers.

Starlink $90/month for a 220MB download speed, with terrible pings

I pay $78/month for a rock solid 1Gig from Bluepeak and pings under 10

I love it when Americans brag about how "good" their awful internet service provider is...

Next time, try a 6ms ping for $18.81/month: 3BB, TiT.

Zing! 😄

As they have done in other hi profile tech achievements China is testing a 6g satellite system which might just pip Musk's Starlink  as successfully as AI and EV attempts.

Let's just pray that Space X can bring our family back to Earth.

If prayer worked why would there be pediatric cancer in religious families?

Explain.

Prayer is at best, a placebo effect.

Or at worst a nocebo effect which makes things worse.

I do however believe in cause and effect of the laws of physics.

Don't worry.

They only have a one out of 270 chance of being roasted alive. 👍

The risk of a SpaceX rocket exploding on reentry and killing astronauts is low but not zero.

Factors That Could Cause an Explosion on Reentry

1. Heat Shield Failure

2. Structural Failure

3. Fuel or Oxygen Tank Rupture

4. Software or Navigation Errors

Crew Dragon’s risk of fatal failure is estimated to be less than 1 in 270 per mission, according to NASA’s safety assessments.
