A 21-year-old man has been arrested for secretly recording videos of women in public restrooms at gas stations and schools, with police discovering over 1,000 explicit recordings on his mobile phone. The suspect, identified as Thanaporn from Roi Et province, was apprehended on March 11 by the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Investigation Unit, led by Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom and senior Division of Special Investigation (DSI) officials.

Police initially set up surveillance at a petrol station restroom in Om Noi, Krathum Baen district, Samut Sakhon, while investigating an unrelated firearms case. Officers noticed Thanaporn behaving suspiciously as he entered the restroom and decided to intervene.

A search revealed two mobile phones concealed in the suspect's waistband. Thanaporn's nervous behaviour prompted officers to investigate the devices, uncovering more than 1,000 videos secretly filmed over the past two years at various gas stations and an unidentified school.

During interrogation, Thanaporn admitted to filming women in restrooms across the Phetkasem and Om Noi areas. He confessed to sharing and selling the footage among acquaintances, citing both personal obsession and financial motives.

Thanaporn has been charged with possession of child pornography for personal or financial gain and transferred to Krathum Baen Police Station for further legal processing. The investigation continues as police examine the footage to identify potential victims and assess whether additional charges are warranted, reported The Thaiger.
