Authorities have arrested a woman operating an illegal orthodontic clinic in Nakhon Sawan, offering unlicensed fashion braces to customers who booked appointments online.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), in coordination with the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD), apprehended Ms. Nathanan at a house in Moo 9, Noen Khilek Subdistrict, Lat Yao District. She faces multiple charges, including operating a medical facility without a licence, practising dentistry without authorisation, and selling prohibited orthodontic equipment.

The operation followed reports that unauthorised dental services were being advertised online. Officers discovered that Ms. Nathanan was promoting fashion braces on social media and accepting appointments via the LINE messaging app. Prices for the procedures ranged from 200 to 900 baht, with customers required to pay a 200-baht deposit.

Undercover officers arranged an appointment and transferred the deposit to Ms. Nathanan’s account. Upon visiting the premises, they were given details about the procedure before signalling to police, who then entered and arrested the suspect.

The operation was carried out under the direction of Police Lieutenant General Jiraphop Phuridech, Commissioner of the CIB, along with senior officers from the CPPD. Ms. Nathanan and the seized evidence were handed over to Lat Yao Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Authorities have warned the public against using unlicensed orthodontic services, stressing the serious health risks involved. They continue to crack down on illegal dental practices to ensure public safety.

Seeing as the braces are only a 'fashion' statement, is it really a dental clinic.

Hygiene not really an issue either by the looks of it.
