US ‘deletes evidence’ of Russia’s kidnap of thousands of Ukrainian children

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

An international effort to trace and rescue tens of thousands of children kidnapped from Ukraine to Russia and prosecute those responsible has been crippled by the US state department’s deletion of evidence. The Trump administration cut funding to Yale University’s Humanitarian Research Lab, which was compiling a database of alleged Russian war crimes, including the abduction of an estimated 35,000 children from occupied areas of Ukraine, last month.

Using satellite imagery and other surveillance systems provided through the US government, the Yale researchers were monitoring 116 sites in Russia.

According to a Yale source this evidence would have been used to help get the children home, as well as prosecute those behind the kidnappings, including Putin.

The Trump administration could potentially  face criminal liability for the destruction of war crimes evidence.

I really don't know how much lower Trump can go. He is making the US the junior partner of Russia, which is the junior partner of China. So the US is now a jr. jr. partner. He is humiliating the count

Derogatory terms are not supposed to be used on the forum.

  • Misleading headline, funding has been cut to a University compiling a list, that's not the USA 'deleting evidence', more like not squandering tax payers money on a pointless exercise.

There is only one solution to all of this and it involves a bullet and Putler.

They care about fetuses. One they're born, they're on their own.

Thanks for the whataboutism. And you really want to get into who the biggest cheerleader is for a certain side in that ongoing conflict? The same guy who has killed this program.

How would we know that if all evidence has been removed?

Well they say he is a "Putin puppet"

but seems more likely he's a "Netanyahu  puppet".

At least he is actually talking to the Russians maybe peace in Ukraine will happen..after that  quick march onto Taiwan and China gotta keep up the never ending war.

And why do you think the Russians are talking to him? Because they believe he is an honest broker? Remember Trump is a guy who has never said a harsh word about Putin but has repeatedly castigated Zelenskyy.

It's the same reason that a certain country trusted him to intervene to arrange a truce. Because they know he has no problem with letting them do whatever they want to and making sure they get the materiel to do it.

What cult is that? Compassion? Concern for the kidnapping of children? Who knows what has happened to them. Russia has long had a problem with child  sexual abuse. It is to be expected that  the "disappeared" would have had many  children subject to horrific acts of abuse.

I've tried that route. Generally gets ridiculed dismissed or ignored.

You're 100 percent right though calling for violence is abhorrent. I find anyone like that to be totally vile and unevolved.

False.

"A Yale source said the US state department deleted the evidence which would have been used as part of rescue efforts to get the children home to Ukraine. It would also have been used to prosecute those behind their abductions – including Russian president Vladimir Putin.

”It is unclear whether it was by accident or intent, but it may reveal or it may cause potential criminal liability for the Trump administration, given international prohibitions against the destruction of war crimes evidence,” the Yale insider told The Independent."

How about-

The Trump administration cut funding to Yale University’s Humanitarian Research Lab, which was compiling a database of alleged Russian war crimes, including the abduction of an estimated 35,000 children from occupied areas of Ukraine, last month. The Yale researchers were monitoring 116 sites in Russia.

A Yale source said the US state department deleted the evidence which would have been used as part of rescue efforts to get the children home to Ukraine.... [the state department] deleted the crime base on the arrest warrant on Putin.

Starts off really well then  with "a source"  ( AKA  a CIA  agent)

says that the state department has deleted evidence...why would the department delete evidence of an alleged war crime ?

The Yale researchers don't have backup of the "evidence"  ?

Why is Yale  monitoring  116 sites in Russia ?  is that also known as spying ?

Here is what I think,   they know the alleged war crime was spurious at best

this "loosing of evidence" will allow them to drop  the case without looking too stupid or admitting it was spurious in the first place.

Lets wait and see.

European citizens, totally horrified, immediately petitioned their governments to make up the funding.

Are you seriously tonight that these children were taken from their families in Ukraine?

And since when does monitoring equal spying? Just because attention is unwelcome, that doesn't mean it's spying.

Precisely. The story gives no evidence to support the claim, directly or indirectly. Typically the Trump haters accept this type of BS as Gospel.

Funny that with this important research by a private institution there were no back ups.

Or leaks......

Seems your spellchecker has gone cuckoo  but I ass-u-me   tonight = denying ?

anyway..

No one denies the children where taken,  taken away from a war zone to a safe place  where is the crime in that ?

This kind of action should surprise nobody as Trump is  showing fealty to Putin and erasing any evidence of Putin's crimes. I think what it really comes down to is that Putin gives him a greater comfort level and makes him feel better about his own lifetime of crimes, that he himself has committed.

Granted though Trump is morally bankrupt, a scam artist, a huckster and a felon, I don't think that he has been involved in all that much in the way of genocide or serial killing like his buddy.

But they are still birds of a feather.

  • Popular Post

The problem with all this for Trump is that he can only delete stuff in the USA.

He cannot delete stuff that is already freely available on the internet, as many other people may well have downloaded it already, and that will be totally outside his control.
