If nothing mentioned above works you can take methypredniosolone. A course of six days eliminated my big toe gout. Also if you can find it pure tart cherry juice will work as well. Drink one or two large containers of it and the gout will go away. Certain drugs can provoke gout as well. A notorious one is hydrochlorothiazide which is a water pill used for high blood pressure.

I suffered "moving" pain which later diagnosed as gout. I say moving in that it went from one part of foot to another. I visited doctor who did a blood test. Uric acid levels should be between 4 and 7, mine was 10.5. I said looks like a strict diet coming up. He said no, the strictest diet will only reduce levels by 10% which would make mine still too high.

He put me on 3 tablets. One which I can't remember name I was on for about 3 months to help get rid of uric acid quickly. Also 1 Xandase-300 (Allopurinol 300mg) per day and 1 soda mint each day. The soda mint is usually used for acid reflux but doctor said it helps the Xandase work better. My pain quickly disappeared and a blood test every 6 months shows my Uric acid around 5 but always within "normal" range.

My blood pressure recently shot up and the cardiologist changed my BP tablets and told me to stop the soda mint because of the extra sodium. It will be interesting to see what my uric acid levels are next blood test but still no pain.

A rigorous change of what I eat, to avoid the build up of uric acid worked for me a hundred percent 👌

Each to his own but prefer to pop 1 tablet a day and enjoy my life eating and drinking what I want and still pain free.

This is a  drug with significant contraindications and  adverse effects.  Should only be used as a last resort and under medical supervision.

My physician tells me I have an occasional "touch of gout," usually in the left ankle. I have elevated uric acid because of other medications I take for an inner ear problem. When I get a flare up--and it is not very often--I take a celebrex. Usually the swelling and pain is gone within six or seven hours.

I have taken it for years and in the beginning it took several weeks before it had an effect on my uric acid levels, did you do a blood test already?  I take now 300mg once a day.  No gout for years.

Same here, took about 3mths to take effect, but now not had Giut attack since (& don't want one) Allapurinol 300mg every morning - persevere with it...

Thanks guys, i'll increase the dosage.

Any diet changes, food(s) / drinks to avoid. Had a look at a few different website and it almost suggests to avoid many foods, seafood / red meat etc?

Please do not adjust your dosage  without  doing the appropriate lab work. Allopurinol can damage your kidneys and is toxic to the liver. This is why the prescribing  physician will ask for periodic blood tests to check your kidney and liver  function and to  determine your uric acid levels. You are supposed to check your white blood cell count multiple times over  the first 3 months of dosing and any changes to that dose. Kidney damage is cumulative and can sneak up on a person, especially if there is concurrent high blood pressure. 300 mg can do serious damage to the kidneys if there is underlying kidney disease. Your physician will also recommend  drinking lots of water  to flush the uric acid, except if you have kidney disease. Then it becomes  a very different management approach.
