I am having a bad week.

I think you would probably have to have private banking at one of those exclusive outlets in Bangkok, with millions and millions of baht in the account, to get any service special service here.

We all have bad days and we all have bad weeks, it's just part of the deal that we seem to have subscribed to when we were born.

Is this a joke?  I challenge you to accompany me to a gym & complete my four times a week regime or play table tennis against me (tho' I do not have a vacant day as I play 3 times a week against opponents 17 years my junior.)

What blade and rubbers do you use?

Well what a great guy you are. People offer to help and you insult them. Deeply unpleasant.

I like KRUNGSRI Bank.

( I do have a account with another bank )

Longest wait at ANY branch has been 10 minutes. - usual time 3 to 5 minutes - I always get a English speaking teller - my number and teller is called in English over the speaker.

I can do my deposit ( foreign or domestic ) at the teller at ANY branch NO service charges - do NOT use service desk. I use the ATM for withdrawal ( see below )

Also use my KRUNGSRI Bank card at OTHER banks ATM's with NO service charges - ( in Korat, BKK, Pattaya.) no need to have large cash in pocket.

Just back from my appointment at 2nd Road branch.  I was seen to immediately by a young man with good English.  I presented him with a number of letters (translated into Thai) by the helpful Head office.  He brought up my account and could find no reason why I had been summoned.  He accompanied me to the bank's ATM machine to prove that my card was working.  (yesterday when attempting to use it I was informed 'Insufficient Data problem' and denied funds.)  Luckily the Kasikorn machine next door had  no problem!

He could not answer what he had done when bringing up my account that made everything right.  He assured me it was nothing I had done wrongly.  He expressed surprise that I was dissatisfied at having to make two trips to two branches at my own expense in terms of time and petrol.

They just wanted to wind you up and have a laugh. Maybe you would threaten to take your 2 million baht out and close the account.

1)  I applied for and successfully achieved a Schengen Visa for my TGF.  I paid for Courier delivery.  The sorting office mis-labelled it.  The dolt went to the wrong house & hurled it up the driveway without securing a signature.  It took hours of sleuthing & a visit to the Sorting Office. The problem was solved by the owner of the wrong house phoning my GF's telephone number on the front of the package.

2)  I was then summoned to attend any branch of the Bangkok Bank because there was a problem.  (I have over 1 million in a current & savings account.)  I duly presented myself at the Numchai Branch on Suk & received a ticket showing 8 people ahead of me.  After 45 minutes, the two desks finally completed dealing with ONE customer.  Aged 82, I realised I was in more danger of dying of old age then getting served and left loudly declaring the inefficiency of the staff/banking procedures.

3)  My GF's daughter finally graduated and I decided we would take a bus to Korat rather than risk this geriatric driver attempting a 350 kms journey.  I found a depot on 3rd Road called Sri Monkol.  It operated a VIP bus for 400 baht a head so I bought 2 tickets.  The VIP bus had some slight damage to the rear.  During the NINE hour journey I had ample opportunity to examine the road-worthiness of the VIP vehicle.  Every crack in the road impacted the passengers probably because the tires were over-inflated.  There was no visible tread on any of the tires.  Prior to a visit to a Weigh Station (?) the driver maintained a 15kph speed limit for 30 minutes, then hit 150 immediately after passing an inspection!

On the return journey we went with NCA who managed the return journey in a mere 7.5 hours AND provided free water & cookies for 25% less than the infamous Sri Monkol outfit.  I feel better now.

but never forget,a bad day in Thailand is better than a good day back home.

Very true.  But a succession of poor experiences is making me look fondly at Spain.

It is on my mind; my Visa requires 800K be in an account for some months before renewal in early May.

'sorry to hear all your issues,  but your 82yrs of age,  you can get in house hospice care to assist you daily.  There are companies that provide 24/7 care for you,   let me know if you want some contacts.'

I was responding to the above post.  Nowhere did I write that I was infirm or ill.  The poster has contacts for 'hospice care'.  He was helping himself not me, possibly on a commission basis.  I was not being unpleasant but boastful of being able to run 500 metres in under 3.5 minutes.

I always thank any poster who offers constructive advice.

Tourists are none too well received there in Barcelona... be Benidorm then!

Pongori from Decathlon.

Table tennis is a great sport though to get rid of some frustration. At the same time, it can also make a week worse if not playing well. Completely up to you of course, but if you're playing 3 times a week you may want to consider buying some better rubbers/blade that suit your game. I don't play as much now as I used to, but I use Tibhar Evolution MX-P on my backhand as it blocks effortlessly and the more power people give me, the more feeling I get. I use Nitaku fastarc G1 on my forehand as I love the biting point for the topspin. It gives me confidence that the ball will arc when I topspin and that I can control the height over the net (It's useless for driving though). My blade is an Innerforce ZLC by Butterfly, which provides excellent feel for my style of play.

Agreed I was suicidal about my forehand yesterday as the ball repeated hit my thumb. Reading your impressively detailed post makes me think there's a lot I still need to learn at 82!
