NoshowJones Posted March 25 Posted March 25 My PB stopped yesterday for some reason and I like to download old and new TV series on my PC. Does anyone else use Netflix for doing this? Is the subscription worth it? Thanks.

The Torrent client I use is called transmission which downloads torrent files for later viewing. https://transmissionbt.com/

I gave you a link to a very respected bit torrent client....yes you are doing something wrong. Not trying to be rude or anything but It seems you don't know the difference between downloading a file and streaming a file or what the PB does or how to use BitTorrent clients. If you take a bit of time to learn how things work then it will all make sense and you'll see there is no need for a Netflix subscription as you will find most everything you want with torrents.
Cameroni Posted March 25 Posted March 25 There are sites that let you download virtually all major tv series for free. I won't post them of course. 1

I believe you, I do know you as a poster. I am not the most literate of PC users, but I have never had a problem using links before. I really believe that computers sometimes have a mind of their own. Can I ask you or any other poster to go to HTTPS://transmissionbt.com/ or pb.org and see what comes up, and I maybe can see what I am doing wrong.
johng Posted March 25 Posted March 25 HTTPS://transmissionbt.com/ https://thepiratebay.org/index.html I hope not to get in trouble for helping a forum member with the PB.org

SMIAI Posted March 25 Posted March 25 No, @johng The issue is that you gave him the address of pb.org instead of https://thepiratebay.org/index.html in the first instance. That took him to a completely unrelated website. They don't need https://transmissionbt.com/

SMIAI Posted March 25 Posted March 25 @johng ass-u-me-ed or ass-u-me-d? 2 and 2 is 22. Perhaps you meant 2 + 2. Better to just write clearly and concisely. No games necessary.

Lots of free proxies around but in my experience they are slow and unreliable, and could be being ran by bad actors to intercept your data. Better off biting the bullet and paying a couple of dollars a month for a decent paid VPN that will work across all devices PC, Laptop, Mobile, Smartbox etc. 1
Cameroni Posted March 25 Posted March 25 5 minutes ago, NoshowJones said: Why not? Because these sites have a short shelf life if too many people know about them they get targeted and have to close down. The less people know about them the better. 1 1

That is the one I was using, it was successful up until yesterday when it just stopped going to my qBittorrent and even then it only worked on my Opera browser.

I do actually subscribe to a lot of paid services like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon and TrueID that usually have the things I am downloading on so don't feel too bad downloading them as feel I have already paid the relevant royalty usage. 1
SMIAI Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Just copy and paste the Magnet links in. Right click on the horseshoe magnet, choose Copy and then Paste that into qBittorrent. Right-click>Copy (on a magnet link). Click qBittorrent's Add Torrent Link Icon. Then right-click>Paste (it into the dialog box). Click Download.

Yes the sites I am referring to are not Torrent sites, but simple MP4 download sites. I find those more convenient. I also pay for Netflix, but of course there' s more out there. 1

madone Posted March 25 Posted March 25 why dont you folks use applications like Stremio? i used to use cinema.apk but it finally gave up the ghost. Stremio with a realdebrid account provides access to far more content than Netflix without the hassle of torrenting, which i havent done since i gave up my seedbox 10 years ago

Use this first https://piratebayproxy.info/ It is a list of all active PB mirrors and checks regularly if they are available. 1

Which part of your post do you consider to be the "helpful hint"? "Google it", sure isn't, and how could anyone know which one you considered the one to go for?
