A military vehicle was targeted in a bomb attack in Pattani province on the morning of 26 March, leaving the driver injured, officials have confirmed.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 09:15 in the village of Ban Bango Yueri, Bue Re subdistrict, Sai Buri district. The vehicle, belonging to the Ranger Reinforcement Company, was struck by an explosive device planted by unknown assailants.

 

Initial reports indicate that the driver suffered chest pain due to the impact of the explosion and was immediately transported to Sai Buri Hospital for medical treatment.

 

Authorities are investigating the attack and searching for those responsible. Pattani, part of Thailand’s restive Deep South, has experienced ongoing violence due to insurgent activity in the region.

Well, Thaksin's visit on Feb 23rd seems to have done little for peace in the south.
