It never ceases to amaze me how some people can condense their entire essence of being a hopeless, brainless waste of oxygen into just one pathetic sentence and so consistently out themselves as complete and utter......    :whistling:

Can you let us in on which one sentence you were referring to?

That you would be pro farang anti Thai on this topic also, at least you are consistent.

Forum has just set a new low.

Packers sons birthday party went over budget by about £1 per head and he refused to pay it.
and he was cheered on by five others.

i spend about triple that just on myself on an average night out.
Luckily they were drinking water at this event.

freeloading is not, in my experience, something Thais will typically do

Definitely not the girls. I've never been asked for money for free.

That's exactly it. I politely let the loudmouth busybody get face by paying for all the stuff she made everybody order. 🙂 Greng Jai. 🙂

It sounds like she wanted to take the credit for the party while you pay for it. If the kids ordered extra I'd pay for it, but based on what you described I'd have done something similar to you. I can't say what exactly as I've not had that happen to me yet.

Considering you seem to be using different numbers in each post on this thread, I don't think you'd know how much you spend yourself.

Maybe it's because you're talking about pounds all the time rather than the currency we use every day here.

He's probably trying to type on his phone and drink drive at the same time.....

She got the "It's OK, have farang pay" boomerang right back in her face, nicely done.

I had that sprung on me once, the casual offer to meet my friend at KFC saw a horde of her family cling-ons descend across two tables and order mega buckets. I went and paid the bill for me and my squeeze, and bid them farewell as I had an 'early' appointment (I didn't).  I didn't stick around to see the shock and horror that my khi-niaow farang moment precipitated.

'tight', 'stingy', 'not good'... You're surprised about that?

Do you know as a fact who paid the 900Baht balance - the cost of the sundaes?

- was it the loud mouth woman - did she pay the whole 1,700Baht?

- Or did all the kids pay for their own sundaes, in total 900Baht?

Does it really matter? He paid what he ordered.. And for all we know this Op was his April fools joke on AN members.

Or maybe it's because he's a well known troll, who is just here to upset people?

Crying over an ice cream?
If you invite people to a birthday party do you restrict everyone to one piece of cake and a glass of water also?
if anything the OP is a troll. Could anyone really be that shameless?

Big hole in that story.

At KFC you line up and order before the food comes, they don’t bring a bill.

About as factual as this swenswens April fools story that did bring out the kii niaow farangs of this forum.

Good try

All of it perfectly exemplifies what a wombat you are.

Hmm a barely believable story designed to make Thais look bad to bring out the ranters.

You have been Bobbed/Donned/Roberted again Richard.

You did the right thing. She was trying to take advantage of you in a very disrespectful way.

Just one point, though. When she started to order extras, I would have told her that I was only paying for the cake.

If someone takes the trouble to report what happened to them we should assume that the person is telling the truth and not call him a liar just because we don't like the story for some reason. Not everyone is a politician, lawyer, criminal, or drug cartel member.

Maybe your son is nosey and delicate? Gets overly emotional, like a little girl? Has he changed his pronoun already? 🙂

Wow.

Maybe you can't afford $50 once a year for his birthday, but I am guessing you probably can.

So why not be the bigger person and pay the whole bill to keep your son happy?

Sounds like the lady was an annoying old hen and I understand your desire to stick it to her, even still ...

Birthday is once a year, what will your son remember, a fun party or a drama over the bill?

I guess it's "the principle of the thing".

Wow.

I'd suspect his son will remember a bossy mum that was trying to ram things down his throat that he does not want.

I would not dream of going to an arranged party and then taking over what had been arranged, would you?
