And the statement of falangs who whinge, whinge and whinge could mean that they do winge a lot but it may also be normal when confronted to jobs badly done on a daily basis or being overcharged ?

It's quite simply about the pros and cons of each.  You cannot have a chilled out, cheap and fun society while following millions of strict laws and constantly stressing about everything you do.  Equally, you cannot have a very functional society where rules are followed to the letter and strict standards are kept while having fun all the time.

 

As a foreigner, with foreign money and other benefits, you have a false idea of what Thailand is really like.  You have a closer idea of what Thailand is like for the wealthy elite.  If you had to live more like a regular Thai, were disabled, or were the victim of some sort of horrific crime or industrial accident, you would probably feel differently.

Things look quite different depending on where we stand.

As well as by how fortunate we are.

To foreigners, with certain level of financial security, Thailand often looks like a kind of paradise(even if not being superrich back home).

But to the underprivileged among the locals, the whole life could be quite tough and hard.

Most farangs are fun, you have to learn to spot the wingers and avoid them unless of course, they fit in with your negative attitude to life. 😃

While I'm sure Thais do whinge, they no doubt do it in a lot more of a low-key way.  One difference is that Thais can bottle up their whinges and then explode.  With foreigners, it's more like a slow puncture.

Would you really want farangs to be as stupid as Thais? If it was not for the Thai road behavior I would not have to ask this question, and before I start getting described as a Thai basher may I point out that when it comes to honesty and decency I think the Thais would win hands down.
