From the above NYPost link:

Justice Sonya Sotomayor slammed the majority for writing an opinion “without mention of the grave harm Plaintiffs will face if they are erroneously removed to El Salvador or regard for the Government’s attempts to subvert the judicial process throughout this litigation.”

Justice Amy Coney Barrett, an appointee of Trump, joined portions of the dissent.

Dissents dont count, especially from legal lightweights like Sotomayor who completely ignore the text of the law.

Good. This is one area where I agree with Trump and his supporters. There need to be mass deportations. The country was invaded under Biden. I've seen figures of between 6.5 million and 14 million brought into the country. You cannot have 6.5 million court cases, much less 14 million. Plus mass deportations act as inducement for illegals to leave on their own before they're caught and sent to El Salvador.

Judge James Boasberg has bipartisan credentials. He was appointed to the D.C. Superior Court by President George W. Bush, a Republican, in 2002, and later elevated to the Federal District Court by President Barack Obama, a Democrat. He does not have a formal affiliation with any political party. Just saying...

Just saying. Wink.

Noted that Justice Barrett partially joined the dissent.

Shes wrong too

Things could get interesting if it turns out Justice Barrett has no problem ruling on the administration's "wrong side".

Winning!

Na Na Na Na Na Na hey hey hey Goodbye!

Conveniently leaving out the fact that the ruling stipulated that the individuals must be notified and given due process in front of a judge first. That was the defect in the original deportation made by trumps admin and caused the original stay being placed by Boasberg.

I think it's a little too early to start crowing about an outright Trump administration victory on this.

While it does put a halt to Boasberg's order, the Supreme Court ruling does not however, allow the government to continue deporting detainees the way they did in this case.

The ruling states, in part:

Quote

AEA detainees must receive notice after the date of this order that they are subject to removal under the Act. The notice must be afforded within a reasonable time and in such a manner as will allow them to actually seek habeas relief in the proper venue before such removal occurs.…

So basically, the court is saying that in future, the administration must follow due process before they can deport any of these alleged gang members.

That will put a serious damper on the pace and volume of the deportations and should ensure that only those people who deserve to be deported, are actually subject to removal.

The victory is because the liberal hivemind was forced to go all-in(due to their brainlessly opposing everything Trump does) supporting illegal ms13 criminals and murderers over US citizens. Will play out to perfection next time there is an election, so much material to campaign with. #winning

Again though, this may not quite be the victory that Stephen Miller and others might have you believe.

Under this ruling the government now has afford people due process.

So if they want to continue to deport  people using the AEA, they'll have to bring them before a judge and prove that they actually deserve to be deported, which will put a serious damper on their desire to quickly and easily ship them out of the country.

Illegal aliens who are guilty of crimes or are actually gang members who pose a danger to society should of course be removed but innocent people should not. Which is surely how any fair-minded person would want it to be.

Liberal is out dated , its a stretch,  for the terrorist supporters of the Dem party ! The  Jacobins have replaced the peaceniks . The peace culture is the Assassination culture , revolutionist dead set on burning our country down!

They/ them  love terrorist  & criminal illegal rights! Love judge shopping too.
The Scotus went as far as saying , the DC courts was the wrong venue !

Yes its funny. I still think of liberals wearing flowery clothing, both sexes with long hair, probably driving an old kombi with the VW replaced by a peace sign, being very anti war, wanting to stick it to "the man", they were creative souls - individuals with unique ideas.

Of course the modern left want more wars, they love "the man" , they panic when defense stocks have a wobbly day, they don't have an original thought between them just brainless parrotting of daft narratives.

It's a funny old world. But this love of terrorist illegals is perfect. Can't wait til 2028 if they are still doing this!

If they have already been convicted of a crime, then they have already had their "due process", right?

Anyone and everyone who is in the US illegally should be deported. We may prioritize criminals at this moment in the process, but the aspirational goal remains to regain control over a border erased by decades of almost unfettered progressivism.

Feminized childhood playground leftist logic would insert all kinds of asterisks and disclaimers to the simple statement above. Fortunately, the adults are back in charge of our national borders.

Fully 75% of those deported had not been convicted of a crime, but even if they had, they still must be afforded due process again, in terms of their deportation, as the recent US Supreme Court ruling clearly states.

Here's part of that ruling.

Quote

“It is well established that the Fifth Amendment entitles aliens to due process of law” in the context of removal proceedings. Reno v. Flores, 507 U. S. 292, 306 (1993). So, the detainees are entitled to notice and opportunity to be heard “appropriate to the nature of the case.” Mullane v. Central Hanover Bank & Trust Co., 339 U. S. 306, 313 (1950).
