The expat sounds like a run-of-the-mill, unhinged sufferer of Trump Derangement Syndrome. I'll bet he has a TrueVision TV package with CNN, MSDNC, ABC, etc.

A simple google search will show that many elected Democrat politicians have been violently threatened by MAGA types. I guess you’ve only got Foxnews in your cable package?

As much as I hate what the dem party represents, this ain’t what democracy suppose to look  like !

There’s a lot of people who are deserving of mental illness  care , acting out  like extreme  leftist ,Mao Communists or Hitlers regime of socialist  , like this guy did, was beyond the scope of  bad taste rhetoric.

“In an interview with the FBI, his father, Richard Welton, said his son was a "socialist" and was angry that he had received 600 political emails, according to court documents”.

600?!?!?

The democrat marxist party got my email address in 2010.  Since then I have been deluged with more than 900 emails a year.   The only time they stopped was when the web based email service, to which I pay for yearly service, deleted the domain name of the email account.

It was two or three weeks before that email domain was reestablished.   After which, I now am receiving more emails from the democrat marxist party as there are several new accounts, from democrat marxist party politicians and their supporters that are sending emails to me.

I find some of the emails amusing, all of them ask for money, without exception!   Aside from the send us money requests, in amounts from $3.00, up to hundreds of dollars, the emails includes, misinformation, half truths, and out right lies!

I have the emails archived and occasionally when there is news about a past event, I look for the emails during that time.   Several times I have found that the democrat marxist party sender, outright lied in the email, with the truth coming out later.     You know, sort of like, if it's a conspiracy theory, just wait a year or two and you will find out the conspiracy theory was true!

Am I angry about getting the emails?   No.   Would I make any kind of threat to any person or organization for sending me the emails?   No, and why would I?

P.S.  Speaking of requests for money, I recently heard that right after the biden, Trump debate, donations to the democrat marxist party dropped so low that it was almost zero!

How about this?

‘Assassination Culture’: Poll Shows About Half Of Liberals Believe Killing Trump, Musk Justified

"A new survey finds an “assassination culture” growing on the American left since the attempted killing of President Donald Trump in July 2024.

Data released Monday from the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) found “48% and 55%” of “left of center” people “at least somewhat justifying murder for Elon Musk and President Trump, respectively.” The findings come after a historically violent election season in 2024, which saw two assassination attempts on Trump in July and September.

“These attitudes are not fringe—they reflect an emergent assassination culture, grounded in far-left authoritarianism and increasingly normalized in digital discourse,” the NCRI wrote. ... "

Or just another Republican Hater like the guy facing 20 years?

He can best be judged by the content of his remarks. I don't need or WANT to meet him. Republican trash is stinking up the landscape.

Is that your comment at the bottom of my post, Felton Jarvis?

Do I really understand, that you agree that over 50% of people on the left in the U.S.  of A. believe that killing Trump or Musk "is a positive sign"?

A guy set fire to the Pennsylvania governors house.   Seems like he was trying to kill him and his family by burning them alive.

I wonder if there are some in this thread that will support this kind of activity?

Why is it that many, not all by any means, of the people operate on a short fuse? Slightest thing and they lose all reason. Maybe it is the bad coffee they continue to drink all day.

You have managed to totally distort the issue. It was not the schools circulating porn, it was the pupils. Next time engage brain before opening mouth.

If you were paying attention, you'd remember that the genesis of this thread was, "How do you take pornography out of schools?". Taking something out comes with a valid assumption that it was put into place to begin with. In recent times, this issue has made national headlines uncountable times with MANY viral videos of parents complaining to school boards all over the country regarding pornography being introduced, promoted, and taught to children by the school administrations and teachers. I have never once heard anyone refer to pornography being introduced and "circulated" in schools by children being some sort of problem beyond the typical childish behavior that has existed since the beginning of time and that it's some sort of "issue". NEVER. Therefore, the logical conclusion to make is that the inference is regarding the schools' introduction and promotion of pornography. I didn't distort any issue whatsoever. You seem to have difficulty grasping context in relation to content. If you wanted to switch context midstream and create a more specific context other than what already is existing in the conversation and public consciousness, then you need to do so, clearly and specifically, not with general statements.
Your ideas of logic are elusive to me as is how you pretend to "engage brain before opening mouth", but you might do better to practice what you preach.

It would have been an interesting followup story had the writer mentioned any of the history of the case.

It's up to us to find out what actually happened.  Assumption is this is something recent, that he was arrested in Thailand, possibly extradited.  Too much detail missing.

Had the journalist reached our level of google-fu, some of the background - like, you know, he was arrested on the charge two years ago, he's been held awaiting trial for two years, there were other interaction with the Chiang Mai consulate.........then it would have been more than a simple copy-paste of a DOJ press release.

That's a fair critique. It did mention that he is ready for sentencing soon, so we know it is an old (new and old all relative here) case, since even entering a plea can take many many months in serious cases like this. And then getting to trial can take a number of more months. Then these sorts of trials themselves can be drug on for more months before getting to the point the article mentioned that this one is at. And since the article mentioned that it was in reference to things this imbecile did in 2021, it's safe to assume that this case is quite old.
All that said, although I think the assumption should be that it's an old case, I definitely do agree with you that it takes much more critical reading, connecting of dots that aren't provided, and beyond what a news article should expect of a reader, to reach that assumption. Since by the forum rules, we aren't allowed to criticize the reporting or writing of articles here.... I'll just say that the "journalist" or "translator", whatever the case may be, was probably really trying hard and doing their best!
I like your "google-fu"! lol I'll have to remember that one. Never heard that before.😂

The only amateur I would claim being right now is, amateur machinist, which is one of my hobby's.

Why would I need xanax?   Are you a psychiatrist that likes to drug your patients?   Do you work for the U.S. Veterans Hospital.   Those guys love to drug their veteran patients!

Based on your angry posts and angry claims about people, I suspect that you would be better suited to taking xanax.

But, perhaps I was wrong about you being a paranoid schizophrenic.   You may just be paranoid as described in wikopedia:

Paranoia is an instinct or thought process that is believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety, suspicion, or fear, often to the point of delusion and irrationality.[1] Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself (e.g., "Everyone is out to get me"). Paranoia is distinct from phobias, which also involve irrational fear, but usually no blame.

Making false accusations and the general distrust of other people also frequently accompany paranoia.[2]

P.S. Not everyone hates me. Just people like you!
