Lost my sunglasses on a United flight from Dubai to Miami — any tips on what else I can do?

I recently flew from Dubai (UAE) to Miami on a United Airlines flight and, unfortunately, lost my sunglasses during the journey. They weren’t just any sunglasses — they were quite expensive. I reported it to the United helpdesk right away, but that didn’t really lead anywhere. I also reached out to my travel agency, Flightd. Pro, to see if they could assist. Still waiting on some updates, but in the meantime, I’m wondering what else I can try to possibly recover them.

I was in a shop once buying sunglasses the assistant  told me "these are unbreakble!" 

 

"Got any UNLOSE-ABLE?" I asked.

Don't buy expensive sunglasses to try to impress others - buy a 100 baht pair from 7/11

Not much. We all lose things at times. Buy new ones.

Was it actually on a United flight or a codeshare?
