A 42-year-old woman lost her life in a road crash while riding her motorcycle to collect her mother from work. The collision occurred on Mittraphap Road, in front of a petrol station in Phitsanulok, when she slammed into the back of a parked pickup truck. Despite emergency CPR efforts, she could not be revived.

At around 18:25 on 17 April, Pol. Lt. Pornchai Plangklang, Deputy Investigator at Mueang Phitsanulok Police Station, was alerted to a fatal motorcycle crash and promptly arrived at the scene alongside medics from Buddhachinaraj Hospital and rescue workers from the Phitsanulok News Image Rescue Foundation.

Emergency responders found the woman lying in the middle of the road with severe head injuries. Her Honda Wave motorcycle, registration from Phitsanulok, had collided forcefully with the rear of a parked Mazda pickup truck, registration from Bangkok. The truck, owned by 39-year-old Mr. Suthan from Phayao province, was stationary in the left lane with its hazard lights on.

According to Mr. Suthan, he had parked the vehicle while preparing to load a broken-down motorcycle belonging to a relative. As he opened the truck’s tailgate, the victim’s motorcycle crashed into the back of the vehicle at full speed, with no signs of braking.

The victim’s 64-year-old mother arrived at the scene shortly after the collision and broke down in tears upon seeing her daughter’s body. She told police that her daughter, who worked various odd jobs, regularly picked her up from her job as a housekeeper at a local resort around 17:00. On this day, her daughter had been delayed by a tyre change and was likely rushing to make up time when the crash occurred.

Police have sent the body for autopsy and will continue their investigation.
