Come on guys, this 1960ties Indian guru-stuff is gone.

No, man, this Sadhguru is on the money, I would go to his yoga retreat toute suite.

I have some expertise on the tickler on women only, so I'm sorry you won't be interested. Since you're into the hardcore gay porn so heavily. Not that there's anything wrong with that Richard.

in the 60s, a handful of westerners had to venture out all the way to india to find people like that. and even in india, they were probably in remote mountains.

now, they're available on youtube.

but maybe they're too deep for most people. and most people still prefer to consume the mass media nonsense.

Yes, it's fortunate the Sadhguru is so popular now, I saw even Theo Von interviewed him.

He's the real deal.  Actual insights like he offers are rare to find.

I bet they enjoyed the adventure. Humans are 80% water. What happens to static water? It goes bad. We need movement to live.

Say Pearl Jam is your fav band. On Youtube they sound good but a concert is levels above.

A movie in a cinema is always better.

So it is action and movement that makes you alive.

That's exactly why I move vigorously during sex. I don't let her sit on top and just lie there. Not for long anyway.

Thanks to our "lucky star" (the sun) every form of life is possible. The only "perpetuum mobile" possible, thanks to the sun.

The concept: Be born, reproduce, eat hamburgers, pay taxes. To be repeated by your children.

Even cave men coulden't derive any sense to it all.

Until the first lighning struck, leaving the cave men in awe: The birth of religions. Promessing eternal life in a better place. If it wasen't for this "promess", most humans would probably prefer to go back to the trees, feasting on bananas.

Too much for this thread… but …

It’s either a divine game, or maybe to suffer so the universe can know itself. Suffering ends when consciousness is drawn back out and disassociates from the physical (i.e. brain)—99.99% of the population miss the last bit. 🙂

A question as old as humanity with no apparent answer. If my life has a purpose then everything else must have a purpose. Buddha's view on 'no self' ie 'dependent arising', nothing exists in and of itself but is the result of a culmination of things and events which also don't exist in and of themselves, hence impermanence as all things and events are transitory.

So Harrisfan doesn't exist then?

So we can just ignore him?

Of course he exists but not as an independent unit, not in and of himself, he needed parents, food, water, air, sunlight, gravity and warmth, without these things he would have no existence, hence there is no island of self that exists or can come into being independently. One could say we are causal events of awareness.

But this is turning into the God thread.

I am not interested in theories so abstract as to practically be meaningless.

Find something you like, turn it into a hobby, and maybe even help others in some small way doing it. That's about it. I don't need to fill my brain with abstract nonsense.

None. Life has no purpose, nor does anything else. Any purpose we assign to anything is just a product of our intellect, not something innate.

That would imply attempting to give purpose to your life which is really just a movement of thought.

Your mind obviously dwells on the more basic requirements of life.

Both.

Purpose of life is the most important question humans have struggled with for centuries

I know what the purpose of life isnt, and thats whatever western culture is pushing on you. You have to push back

The ideal world is halfway between Thai culture and the west.
