The key is to opt for fruits that have a low glycemic index and are absorbed slowly. The most recommended fruits to eat at breakfast time and that do not have high glycemic peaks are: fresh plums (they contain sorbitol); grapefruit (rich in vitamin C, flavonoids and fiber); apple (speeds up digestion); blueberries and strawberries (for their antioxidants); oranges, always whole as we said before; and kiwi.
