I posted another theory in the other thread. To pay off the massive debt. RIsing oil prices benefits the US. US currency will be massively devalued in the next 3-4 years and a lower currency means it's easier to pay off the debt. Bad news for the average American if its true. It might mean more inflation with a continuing devaluing dollar.
