Any one get the new TagThai app. With Pay&Tour?

Featured Replies

This is a new app and card designed for tourists but I got one as I just cancelled my credit cards and this gives me another form of payment.

The main condition of the card is you top it up with your own countries currency which I did. Went to Kasikorn Exchange booth and was quickly registered and received the card.

Main reason for this post to see if anyone got it and having trouble. I have tried 3 different QR codes and 2 came back can not use card with this business and the 3rd scanned but instead of going straight into paying it then asked for Promtpay number and something else. I still have my ATM card and used that each time but a tourist, who this card was designed for, may not.

Maybe teething problems or just another well thought out Thai initiative.

UPDATE: I have now tried 6 QR codes with this app and none worked.

Don't waste your time and money(exchange fees) in getting this service.

Apart from any technical issues regarding the app, I think it only works with QR codes linked to merchants' bank accounts.

Many places, especially smaller shops, use QR codes linked to personal accounts which aren't eligible for TagThai payments.

Ok. Thanks.

Tried a couple online "merchants" a friend's and my personal codes, a bar and a pharmacy. The pharmacy was the only one that partially work but needed to add more info.

Really a bit useless if tourist think they can use for any QR code. I will get my cash back and throw card away.
