Crime Man Stabs Fiancée Before Taking His Own Life
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A shocking case of domestic violence has rocked the province of Roi Et, after a man brutally stabbed his fiancée and then fatally shot himself, believing he had killed her. The incident occurred around 21:30 on 24 June in a stilted wooden house in Changhan Subdistrict, Changhan District. Police from Changhan Police Station and emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a shooting. Inside a bedroom on the upper floor of the house, officers found the body of Mr. Arthit 33, dressed in black. He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the right temple. A 30cm-long knife and a sawed-off shotgun, were found nearby and secured as evidence. Also found at the scene was a severely injured woman, identified as Ms. Nuntawan 29. She had been stabbed approximately five times in the torso and was barely breathing. Emergency responders immediately transported her to Changhan Hospital for emergency treatment. According to Ms. Nuntawan’s father, Mr. Arthit had proposed to his daughter roughly four months earlier, but the wedding had yet to take place. He worked in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, while Ms. Nuntawan remained in Roi Et. The couple reportedly met on weekends. On the day of the incident, Ms. Nuntawan had returned home as usual, had dinner with her family and then went upstairs to rest. Her parents and grandmother remained downstairs. A short time later, a single gunshot was heard from upstairs. When her father rushed to the room, he found his daughter gravely wounded and Mr. Arthit already dead. Investigators believe the couple had a serious argument over the phone, prompting Mr. Arthit to drive from Nakhon Ratchasima to confront his fiancée in person. After a heated altercation, he reportedly stabbed her multiple times, assuming she had died. Overwhelmed by the consequences of his actions, he then shot himself. The case is currently under investigation, while Ms.Nuntawan remains in critical condition. Adapted by Asean Now from Khaosod 2025-06-26 -

Accident Missing Mother Found Dead in Drainage Pipe in Lampang
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A desperate search for a missing woman in Lampang ended in heartbreak after her body was discovered lodged in a drainage pipe, four days after she was last seen. The woman, aged 46, had been reported missing by her daughter, who made an emotional appeal on social media via the “Jaehom City” Facebook group. She had left her home in Pong Don Subdistrict, Jaehom District, Lampang Province, and never returned. On 24 June, a coordinated search was launched by the Lampang Rescue Association (Jaehom unit), forensic experts, officers from Jaehom Police Station and local district officials. The team combed areas along an irrigation canal near Ban Huai Sanao in the hope of locating the missing woman. At around 16:00, authorities were alerted to a body found stuck in a drainage pipe near Ban Wangsak in Jaehom Subdistrict. Rescue personnel and police investigators rushed to the scene and confirmed that the body was that of a woman. An initial examination revealed a head injury. The deceased was later identified by relatives as the missing woman they had been searching for. The superintendent of Jaehom Police Station, ordered the body to be transferred to Lampang Hospital for a full forensic examination to determine the exact cause of death. While investigations are ongoing, the community remains in shock at the outcome. The family, who had hoped for a safe return, are now left grieving and seeking answers.
