US farmers - the double whammy

Featured Replies

US farmers can't sell their produce to China. Reciprocal tariffs have resulted in cancelled orders and halted shipments. China is buying its food elsewhere.

Potassium is an essential fertilizer for many crops. America imports 93% of its potash from Canada, now subject to tariff. A new tax on farmers.

Winning.

China has cancelled massive soybean, corn and pork orders from the U.S.

Farmers will have to be bailed out, again.

Was just watching on ... was it BBC? DW? Can't remember, anyway, yesterday's report on the mood of the German consumer, where over 70% stated that they would not buy American brands anymore. That's the worst kind of tariff - companies are penalised because they are from a specific country by consumer boycott, more or less, regardless of where products are actually made.

If this spreads, United States will be hurting more than Trump can imagine.

Can't wait for Washington apples to start printing Canadian flag on the sticker and call themselves Ontario apples... Or Dell claiming to be Proudly Mexican....
