Exactly. Some look at people with certain tatts, like on the face and neck, and fear them, for no reasons other than stereotype. You can put a neck tattoo on a man who can't do 10 pushups and some will fear him, and look at a man with a rose on his arm that can bench 300 lbs and think he's a snowflake. Can't judge a book by it's cover is always legitimate.

No, it's not just stereotype. Certain tattoos placed in certain areas of the body can have certain psychological effects. Some men are using them to look intimidating. Mike Tyson might be one example.

Just remembered the Mel Gibson film Apocalypto. It seems the Mayans had tattoos. They needed to scare off their enemies to survive.

it's really annoying, because sometimes the girl is good looking and you still have to give her a pass because of the tattoos.

Why the h3ll do they desecrate their skin like that?

True, but some things will scare some people and get a laugh from others. Just like the opinions here, that those with tatts are low IQ, stupid, tramps, low class. It's all stereotype thinking that comes from believing others opinions. Some people are intimidated by others for many reasons. Size, height, tatts, but the reality is you don't know what anyone is capable of without knowing them. Bruce Lee was very small but pretty skilled. If you saw him in clothes, most wouldn't fear him. This is what I see in the actor you mentioned...........image.jpeg.68aa3602585731e30cf4608407163582.jpeg.

Excellent analysis. It is link to narcisism. Millenials and gen z are great at it. Theyre empty and souless.

I can assure you there are more than a few narcissistic Gen X arxxseholes.

But yes, mainly it's a Boomer / Gen Y / Gen Z thang.

How are you familiar with them? Through Yellow Press only I suppose 😊

I could ask the same question when you said that the 22% of men in the west who had tatts were idiots.

It doesn't need to be over psycho-analyzed.

I beg to differ.

The younger generations (and let's toss in a few Boomers) act solely out of reward or punishment.

Tatts signify modern Western society's Pass Go card.

"With your ink markings you have signified your worth in our society"

Hence the trend towards it.

That article is just as inaccurate, half complete and only speaking of 1 of many aspects. Pathetic this forum.

Mayan had tattoos for spiritual protection, for identity, warriors got them after battles and to display ranks, priests and shamans for sacred symbols, commoners had them for beauty and devotion on top. It was to identify ranking and status within society as well, as well to identify specific tribes.

I personally don't have any, never felt a want for one, but all my children, who have well above average IQ's, have them, along with my dad, who had a genius level IQ, so that kinda ruins your theory.

It's nothing to do with IQ or even education. It's to do with class

All men with tattoos are idiots...

All idiots (men) got a tattoo

Think about it

If you read it you'd notice there are more than one reason. We learned about Mayans in high school, as history is a big subject in the US, and a lot follow it throughout life. I was always interested in other countries history, and the reasons people did what they do. This is but a short article, but it does explain some about the whys.

Well for a dedicated page and article I find it extremely worrying and even sad, that it not even points those basics out. All it speaks about is woke beauty. So that are the new standards in western universities? Half baked info? Under the label science on top lol.

That's why people shouldn't judge others by tattoos , talking on forums or any other appearances. You don't know the real person from the outside. Class comes not only from money but how you carry yourself. There are many lowlifes that are very rich, who got that way taking advantage of others. In Texas alone, many very large ranch families are very wealthy, all because their ancestors swindled or killed their neighbors to get more land for themselves, and land in Texas means money, especially if it has minerals. That isn't class but imposters who look good to some people who aren't aware of their history.

Yes. Total school failure. He's dyslexic and has ADHD.

As a scholar of human behaviour and how it relates to achievement concerning the Western definition of material success, this is curious (and frankly astounding) to me.

How then to explain Sir Branson's exceptional success?

Hard work?

4 am get ups seven days / week?

300 hour work weeks?

Or.... possibly something else?

😂

Explaining the basics is usually enough to let people know the whys. You can always google more links to get a more detailed understanding. I just found one to show the real reasons why they used tatts.

Class has neither to do with money or tattoos, it is always people who are bitter as of poor economics who force that idea onto others. It's nothing but projecting and gaslighting from the person complaining and stating it. Makes them look even worse too.

Your words, "That's BS. Facts are different. Around 22% only. So the idiots are the minority"  That means the people who got the tattoos, the 22%, in your opinion, are idiots. . Calling anyone with a tattoo an idiot is wrong. You don't know them, and if you did, you don't know them well enough to judge them. There are plenty of people around who are unstable, sociopathic, wealthy, and in high positions that don't have tatts.

It is exceptional. You are right. There are two things that made Branson succeed, first the exceptional support of his parents, and secondly his entrepreneurial spirit and hard work. His parents remortgaged their home to save his initial business.

Then there's luck of course. He founded a record company at a very auspicious time for it in the UK and ended up signing successful acts.

Sir Branson had the good fortune of supportive parents, his intrinsic ethic of working hard to get what he envisaged and of course the dice rolled in his favour (when it could've easily rolled snake eyes).

Everything clicked at the same time and his destiny was a lock.

Kudos Sir.

Yea, you don't see many serious intellectuals or people at high levels of business or government dawning all manor of tattoos, or body modifications.

There is a direct link to the class of people and their body decorations etc. ( or lack of) I myself have NO tattoos or piercings. When I was working my income and education were well above average and into the top 3%

Interestingly, the 2023 Pew Research Center data indicates an inverse relationship between education/income and tattoo prevalence in the US:

37% of those with some college education or less have a tattoo.
24% of those with a bachelor's degree have a tattoo.
21% of those with a postgraduate degree have a tattoo.

43% of lower-income adults have a tattoo.
31% of middle-income adults have a tattoo.
21% of upper-income adults have a tattoo.

Now just because I don't have tattoos doesn't mean I don't like them on women. I find some body piercings and tattoos on women very erotic.

Lack of foresight?

Poor impulse control?

Tatts are actually art, although if people with tatts like other art I'm not sure. I like art but haven't any body art. My kids like art and have tatts, so it's personal.

Nope, it's an indication of being low class and coming from a broken home.

Or maybe having at least one mentally ill parent?

I wouldn't go that are. Coming from a broken home? Where do you get your information? Do what I did. I did a bit of research and found that income and level of education have a direct correlation.
